I understand why they both forgot the scene they shared. There was so little interaction between the two. Shatner's drunk character was being escorted out and all Nimoy's character did was take his drink from him.

Leonard's play closed after just one performance. Vincent Canby of the New York Times called it, "Ghastly". It also got bad reviews in Los Angeles before moving to The Lyceum on Broadway. The producers shut it down after opening night.
