This interview is far better than the Bill Maher Club Random interview. I think it's the quality of the interviewer. But I love William Shatner so much, I would even tolerate Maher's rude AF interviewing style to hear anything Mr. Shatner had to say if he'd let him. Thank you for this, Adam. You rock.
@NopeOnARope_6 ай бұрын
Scrolling through the few comments, there's probably about 20, and wishing I hadn't done so. Now I'm just pissed off. wtf is wrong with people? This man is a legend and the oldest to go to space, even. To pass the physical to be allowed to go to space at age 90 no less is miraculous in and of itself. The bitchy ones in the comment section have no idea what they have here. I loved him as the Big Giant Head on 3rd rock from the sun, too. Playing off of John Lithgow must've been a blast. That entire cast was just bananas and how perfectly suited they were to one another. It was just the right amount of absurd to be fricken hysterical. I want to see this man reach age 100. Someone get the bubble wrap. And find out what's in his drinking water.

@@NimsQuarlo I still need to see the Burr episode, but yeah, I noticed that Maher *can* be that way. I like him a lot and agree with 90% of his points, but at the same time there are some Club Random moments where -- either because of his own ego or the booze -- he leans a little too hard into a kind of mean-spiritedness. I saw that a bunch in the Billy Dee Williams and John Fogerty episodes. Having said that, other episodes were great. I guess my point is, you're not wrong, but that Bill can probably just be like me or anybody else where we are sometimes just a bit of an asshole...possibly exacerbated by booze...but we're not always having it be documented or judged my millions. I try and cut him some slack, but yeah, sometimes he's a fuckface.

They were filming streets of san francisco near our house. Micheal douglas walked right past our ragged group of kids. Karl Malden came over and said to us where is the nearest store? We pointed up the street. Karl malden said who wants ice cream? He walked with us to the store and bought ice cream for maybe six of us. He then sat down on the curb with us in his trenchcoat and hat and asked each of us our names and where we went to school as we ate our ice cream together. Then we walked back to the set and watched them film the scene. We booed micheal douglas after they finished filming the scene. After that we loved karl malden and despised micheal douglas. Shatner and Adam, what a great show. Truly. But the second half with the d-bag, holier than thou "car-guy?" Literally painful. Sorry Adam, there are car-guys and then there are guys that found themselves able to BUY Lamborghinis. Knocking down the "backyard" guys and their $60k cars says more about this interview than it does the lowly "backyard" guy. I've been extremely lucky in life and I have a small shop, just for a "hobby." But for the grace of God I'm working 80 hours a week to get by. And that's you too. But for a chance meeting or two, your coolest car is maybe a '65 Mustang you drive on the weekends when you're not in the Chevy Silverado you drive to the jobsite to manage your crew. So maybe remember who the bulk of your audience is when you're joining in on knocking the lowly "backyard" car guy, and realize that "what you tell everyone to be sure and see when they're at Goodwood," is a very small snippet of your audience.
