Dude, he was augmenting Maher’s point. Maher was already rolling around like a mud wrestler in the fact that she's black. Shatner was only trying to flesh it out with the side bar "well, she was pretty fucking hot btw." That wasn't "his point." It was dragging this "yeah yeah we get it" lofty-ass historical bullshit to what it meant to the people actually doing it, and both have commented extensively over the decades how to them it was just a nice chance to get to make out with someone they mutually found very attractive. He didn't HAVE to boringly repeat the obvious to anyone.

That was, without a doubt, one of the most profoundly important moments in television, entertainment, cultural, and racial history for our country and for humanity in general. William and Nichell should be applauded for taking a stand and not backing down to the stupidity of people who are truly blind. Let us not forget to mention the great Gene Roddenberry. A man truly ahead of his time. He saw the future and had the courage to show all of us that we are one people who come from the same place. We are all humans from a little blue ball that we call Earth.
@silly_hammy16 ай бұрын
The only problem is: after watching anything Gene made, I really thought mankind would emotionally advance from the 70s and onward. But man is still caveman bullshit
@kimberlyl98446 ай бұрын
@ms_beastie Unfortunately, I really can't refute your reply. I agree that we as a whole still have a long way to go and a lot more work before we reach Gene's ideal civilization. Don't forget, he was in visioning Star Trek several hundred years from now. And after a third world War. I hope that he will be proven wrong about the war. And I harbor a great sadness that we won't be around to see his ideal civilization.

Not trying to get political, but Trump has conferences all the time with people asking a variety of questions and he's fine. Biden on the hand, has scripted questions and scripted answers literally in his hand and he stumbles through them. You can't compare Trump and Biden. Biden is literally senile and Trump might be at the beginning stage of memory loss (might, but he seems fine)

@@workingmamma5342 if you're trying to say that Trump and Biden are on the same level (as far as mental facilities go) then I don't know what to tell you. He is an absolute shell of himself. Go back to Obama years and watch videos of him speaking, it's two totally different people (not literally of course). Back when he was saying that anyone illegal should be shipped back and strong borders are the only way for a nation to survive. Also, if you want to get political, did you know that Donald Trump's policies are FAR more to the Left than Bill Clinton's? Also, he's further to the Left than Obama when it comes to gay marriage. Why people think he is a "hard core" righty is crazy (unless of course hard core means he doesn't want open borders. If that's the case, 90% of Americans agree Biden has been terrible with the border)

@@chadhero37 Trump makes absolutely no sense at all. He spews nothing but word vomit, and the people of MAGA are happy to slurp it up, even though it's full of bile and trash. Washington and hotter than Brad Pitt.
