Thanks for posting. Wow, Shockley must have hit a REALLY soft spot with a lot of those people. Barely anyone applauded for him at the end (unlike the other speakers I've listened to on this channel) and the moderator just said "goodbye" to him instead of the common "thank you very much for coming" farewell. Even George Lincoln Rockwell (The American Nazi Party founder) was applauded and given more respect than Shockley was here! Race differences today are still taboo over 40 years later! The truth still hurts. Great series. Thank you for the uploads.

Do you even know what you mean specifically when you say Dr. Shockley supported 'racism'? How is it that you define the 'racism' that you proclaim Dr. Shockley "supported"? I guess you would say the same thing about Dr. MacDonald and his many years of unbiased research that clearly point out the fact there are many differences between the races and the over-abundance of evidence suggesting a hierarchy in intelligence levels - or is that racism, too? You are either non-white or a damaged white. Either way, your ignorance is alarming and a huge part of what is wrong today in our failed experiment of multiculturalism and diversity. As the white man falls, civilization falls with it. You start a sentence with "'yeah" and you are flat out incorrect in saying he is "ignorant" on genetics and IQ - it is the complete opposite and you know it. You also spelled genetics incorrectly, but I doubt you care. You seem to be a sub-par dullard. In fact, your comment makes you sound like a jackass or a hasbara troll.

I simply don’t understand why eugenics is so controversial. As a society, we apply and remove selective pressures all the time, however, it’s typically done without any foresight or intention which can have disastrous consequences. People become completely irrational when talking about race or intelligence. It’s blasphemous to the secular religion that rose to prominence in the 1960’s.

I have several family members in the iron workers union in Indianapolis. I tell people my family are iron men who built Indianapolis. Uncle Paul was Union President three years. At a family reunion I was speaking to a couple cousins in the union. It seems pretty dangerous to weld I-beams at 1,000 feet up, it would scare this pencil necked desk jockey, ha ha. They said they work paired up with safety lines and they tie up with family. If no family are available they shout out "hey, anyone here that doesn't have a partner who does drink booze?" However if there are sober native Americans they prefer to tie up with them on a job rather than even family as they have excellent balance on the job. Uncle Leo was sipping coffee and nodded his head, "Indians move like Panthers on steel." This guy Schockley is an educated moron, a second rater. The idea his mother had good nutrition, sleep and low stress and his parents weren't drunks did not have an effect is not brought up. Blacks at enlistment boards with good eyesight? They play more basketball outside, rather than reading Harry Potter book. Duh. Glad this educated idiot was able to focus on something and make a brake though for mankind. However he doesn't have adult rational creative thinking. Sad.

Shockley,If I'm to understand,Believes environment and geographic areas contribute to intelligence,And to some extent,Financial also...Then i would ask is a person who was born in a environment that would dictate using natural resources,To among other things basically survive,I.E. Every aspect of his or her survival would take a vast knowledge of improvisation of the earth's bounty, Yet, A individual who came,Say from a wealthy background,And had opportunity to attend the finest schools for instance,Would unquestionably never survive in the harshest conditions,Like the eskimo could..Therefore,The so called intelligence of an individual is relative!

Also, I'm revisiting this video a year later -- people generally are upset about talk on genetics and the implications regarding intelligence, beauty, hereditary disorders, and so forth, because we cannot change what we are born with.. yet. Currently all that is left to pure chance (or God), and so naturally you'll take offence over the realisation of innate differences between people, and the inevitable superior/inferior comparisons. You'll never be pretty as an Olga Kurylenko, or as gifted as a David Beckham; today's prevailing ideology of wokeness, equity, and social justice (which is very Marxist in its origin) serves as a kind of consolation for that ache by placing that burden on social upbringing; of which, the byproduct is obfuscating weakness and ugliness as things to be embraced. If you read up Shockley's biography, you'll believe that he died as a miserable crackpot, estranged and alienated. Little do you realise, he is uncomfortably far ahead of his time. When the age of genetic engineering arrives down the line, read up on Shockley's "eugenic" ideas again, which point out genetic differences between ethnicities.. you'll be surprised how things really change in retrospect.

This guy doesn’t understand anything about genetics. Genes cannot explain psychological differences between groups, only between individuals. Culture and ecology do a much better job explaining differences between groups. Heritability is about explaining variations and for intelligence that ranges from the low 30s to low 70s in percentage, depending on the sample, the kind of intelligence, culture, the measure, and attitude towards intelligence. It’s quite meaningless. Genes play a much bigger role in emotional temperament differences between individuals.

While this may not be the case please understand Dr.Shockley has been ‘betrayed’ by many of his colleagues (and a few of them betrayed by theirs) and his apparent trust issues are only further revealed in these talks. Yes he helped invent the MOSFET, and he did defiantly make it practical as any engineer is required. IQ is not scientific; it only can test the ability to pass a test, nothing else. If you take once IQ test, you can improve the score if you take it again. It is like taking SAT, GRE, GMAT again and again. What that would prove? McNamara had 100 percent GMAT score, but he designed the Vietnam war. I have never taken any IQ test whatsoever, but I am a PhD from a leading university of Britain, I taught in both Oxford and Cambridge, a Professor for the last 20 years in Japan, wrote 17 books published by famous publishing companies like Macmillan press, wrote about 80 research papers.

Dipak Basu nothing in psychology is scientific. IQ is meant to measure the inherent ability to cogitate. We get more knowledge as we grow older, but the rate limitation of learning is very much proxied by IQ. We will never learn how to solve our problems if we can't identify them. Shockleys solution might not be the right path, but as it stands, the world refuses to even admit his findings were right. Later researchers verified all of this and then it was quietly swept under the rug. Our emotions are driving us backwards, and eventually it will become so painfully obvious that society might resort to extreme measures. That's why it was our moral responsibility to pursue truth.

Shockley does not seem logical or very intelligent to me. I'm totally unimpressed. It is "shocking" to me that he got a Nobel Prize for the invention of the transistor.

Cold German Beer Asians. Yes. Asians. Attended jr. high and the Sr. one with many of them in Los Angeles, California, about a couple of dog's ages ago. All in all they're, to be fair and truthful, fairly adept in academics, obedient to the scholastic authorities in charge, assiduously dedicated to high achievement, meek, and have a knack to avoid jail sentencing, in any evrnt. All in all. Mm hm. I can surely attest to all this. And no, they don't complain...much. Just bottle it up inside until the pressure to do so mounts and mounts and....pop pop pop and more pops! goes the semi-automatcs, wily-nilly. Seung-Hui Cho best exemplified this when at Virginia Tech and.....32 died...17 wounded....and yeah you know the rest. He'll certainly be remembered in US History, for a while at least. Kind of made many of us Blacks appear like Mahatma Ghandi in comparison. Don't you just dig, like a grave robber, the way I choose to play Devil's Advocate? (Sorry to have rained on your parade...but I just couldn't resist temptation's mighty powerful allure to contradict you, a lil) Ain't I such an Angel???

Cold German Beer Uh huh. I see you're quick with the segue to back on your deninciatory discourse about us Blacks, naturally. How thoughtful you are of us (if a getting a bit tiresome with it). So if he had a high functioning brain why did Seung-hui do it? What accounted for that? Killing up all you White folks? (Think that was a bit telling), in a highly functional homicidal way? That's the first question I'd like you to answer, wiseguy. What's his excuse you've condone and given your blessing to? Second question is what accounts for you not not being able to bring up the name of a Black Man that did something like that or worse.... no, let me rephrase....the names of several Black people that did what your Asian friend did if we're as bad as all that??? Hmmmmm? I'm talking about in one shooting session murdered as many as your Korean buddy gone bananas did in Virginia Tech. and made the news headlines. Please Explain why you didn't do it. (This I gotta read.)
