Just a video to give you a idea on what goes on during a shrimp trip. This is shrimp fishing of the Labrador coast, this video was taken over a 2 trip period.
Thanks for the video. It's nice to see how your crew and you work together and get it done. I'm from the west and appreciate the Atlantic boys and how you take great pride in your resources and your way of life. All the best.

That was one of the coolest things I ever saw! Loved the still shot at the end with all the shrimp. The hole in the wall was awesome too.

Interesting video! I was wondering if you could share any details on the sorting grid used in this fishery. It seems a flexible type, as it is loaded on the net drum. What kind of material was it made from, by whom,...etc? Thank!

We have to put shrimp in cold ice sea water to preserve it to port or it will turn black. How come your don't turn black only it those bags.
@Biglandtrapper7 жыл бұрын
What type of shrimp do you fish ? I know that some types have to be looked after a little more than others....
@igornovak65427 жыл бұрын
I am sorry but i really don't know. We fish in Adriatic sea. it is small. We also need to put one spoon of wine sulfur dioxideon on 100liters barrels(cold sea water) or it will turn black even after you froze it., Before 10 years we cache only 1kg per day, now it is 250kg per day, and other fish is gone from that area.

Real slick operation; but the size of the shrimp, cant see how they can be used!
@Biglandtrapper10 жыл бұрын
Right on thanks, these are Northern Prawn (Pandalus borealis) guess they are not as big as some of the other types of shrimp out there but males get up to 120 mm, they are peeled, cooked & frozen in bags, they are very tasty. Later the summer I’ll show some of the finished product that comes from the plant might also cook some up aboard the boat.
