as a man who regularly works with molten sugar and other confectionaries i can say being burned by the smallest amount of boiling sugar can be incredibly painful and the heat only intensifies the pain afterwards. seeing the lava splatter around in the small stainless steel shield and seeing it whip toward the plexiglas cover they made in vain for themselves is bonechilling. oh my god this is nauseatingly dangerous son

That is an absolutely fantastic idea you should discuss that with some companies if I had more information on it I would try to help you my only concern would be potential fumes that could be a byproduct of heating certain plastics so if you have an already put research into that I would recommend it but otherwise that is a phenomenal idea and I can’t see why that wouldn’t work
@blackhole3407

Im afraid plastic would act as bad as the cheese when heated and it would be dangerous to use as insulation because plastic is flammable
@eideticex
@eideticex 3 жыл бұрын
You don't need to do all that at all to do this with plastic that can be remelted. Heat PLA to around 200C to 230C. Press a glass or metal plate up to around 60C into it for a few seconds, don't even have to press hard, just enough to hold it there. Then pull it back. You can create longer strands by keeping the area around it warmer. Stringing with your remeltable plastics is a very difficult to solve problem so that would make it a trivial choice to create fibers.
