Wow Will - thanks so much for those critiques. I've learnt more from you yet again. I'll admit, I was a bit nervous how they'd hold up but your changes look awesome. 🙂

Stunning images from Leanne and numerous helpful tips Will during the critiques. These videos are very helpful. Yours is a channel I keep coming back to due to a really good balance of shooting in the field combined with these types of videos and the editing sessions. Your channel is going from strength to strength.

Hi Will. Thanks again for another very informative and helpful video and thanks also and very well done to Leanne for allowing her images to be used. The main thing that I got from watching this video is how different the image appears straight out of camera compared to what can be achieved in post to improve it and make it more in keeping with what the photographer saw and envisaged when taking the shot. The word 'photography' is literally derived from the two Greek words 'Photo' (light) and 'Graphe' (drawing). Did Picaso really see people with uneven eyes or triangular noses or did Van Gough really see the world in the colours that he painted? No. they used their own opinion and artistic license to produce images that they thought best suited the vista that they saw at the time and what most pleased them and their admirers. Of course, you will always get the purists and the trolls who think that altering images out of the camera is the Devils work but videos like this prove beyond doubt, the obvious benefits and improvement that post processing can achieve. Keep up the great work.

Hi, dont take this the wrong way, but I think your channel will grow more if you drop alle the "turtorial" videos about technical stuff and compostions and so on and rather focus on quality videos out in the field and just the positiv things about beeing out in nature with the camera:) Best regards from Norway Can only speak for my self, but I enjoy you videos out in the beautiful New Zealand forest way more and if you can increase the video quality it would be perfect:)

Thanks. Unfortunately that’s not true, although I wish it were the case. They’re my favourite videos to make. However, the videos that get the most views and traction are the tutorial ones. It’s very evident when I look at the analytics for the channel. So the educational videos are actually the ones which grow the channel. I’ll just keep making a variety of videos like I always have. Everyone is a winner that way. Eventually it’ll reach a point where it’ll predominately be the field videos.

For me I think Will strikes the perfect balance. I have learned sooo much from his tutorial videos (and Master Classes I have purchased), but taking us along in the field is pure inspiration. You also have to realize that even the field videos could be considered tutorials because he teaches so much about composition and other technical aspects as he is hiking, setting up, shooting and post-processing. All good from where I sit. If Will posts, I watch (and Like). Cheers!
