Dealing with depression myself, I know the feeling when listening to Lana's music. She puts her finger right on the sore spot, that's why I love her music. Depression can give the feeling like you're alone in this situation and no one else understands you, her music just feels very comforting to me to realize she knows what i'm going through. There is a beautiful song by Lana Del Rey called Young and Beautiful. In my opinion is a more uplifting song about eternal love and for what you share in your videos about everything you've been through I think you will relate to it! she wrote all the concept of this music video , she called it ''the lonely queen '' and was filmed in Fontainebleau palace, in France. for me the key scene of the video is when she is in a bed with her boyfriend and he presses her throat, so through this you can understand the last scene when while Lana goes out of the hotel, scenes her bloodied being carried by her boyfriend are shown.

I'm really glad you reacted to Lana. She's one of the only American artists I listen to nowdays and she's basically the only things that's keeping me from abandoning American music completely. She has many good songs, but I would definitely recommend Young and Beautiful. Partly because it's a great song, and partly because it's one of her less depressing works.

+FrozenRoxas I will check that out, see how it affects me. I LIKE depressing, tho. Because I can FEEL sadness (and so strongly, too!) I seek sad in songs, movie, etc. I have trouble with other emotions, but sad I can feel well.

+FrozenRoxas I was an active alcoholic for 23 years- when you drink, generally you drink to kill pain. You have a feeling, an emotion, that hurts. When you drink, you don't feel it. The problem is, you lose the ability to FEEL anything after so much drinking- then you become DESPERATE to feel ANYTHING. I've been sober since 2000 except a four month period after my wife died- I drank for 4 months to keep from feeling, then quit and have been sober again since. Even though I have been sober for 16 years, I still find it difficult to FEEL anything... except sadness. I wear sadness like a familiar old jacket.
