I was a graduate student at ISU the season after Johnny Orr's initial arrival on campus in 1980. Man, he built quality, and brought so much excitement to the basketball program over my time there! Hell, I still recall standing in line to register for classes and seeing Jeff Hornacek in the same queue. Nice work, lads! The channel is high quality, and you guys keep it real and highly informative for us clones. All the best to you going forward.

I had occasion to meet a former Big 8 official some years ago whose first game at Hilton became famous for Johnny Orr T'd up and ejected. The team wasn't doing well, and on a time out Orr made a big show of chewing out one of the refs, who surprisingly was chuckling as he huddled with the rest of the crew before resuming play. According to the story, the other refs asked him what he was laughing about. Evidently Johnny had told him "well coach, I've had about enough of this s**t. Next time something happens down at the other end, I'm going to throw my coat on the floor. I want you to toss me out of the game." Sure enough, next trip down the court, someone hits the floor under the basket. Johnny takes off his jacket and throws it on the floor. No technical. Johnny shouts and yells, trying to get someone's attention, no technical. So he starts walking, and none of the officials notice until he's clear out by the center circle. That's when they hit him with a double technical and away he went. His teams always kicked into high gear when he was ejected. They went on to win and the Des Moines Register featured a big picture and the headline "Johnny's Long Walk."

We need to get Milan to watch tons of Larry Bird's highlights.. Milan needs that playmaking take over a game mentality...what's your thoughts??
