I have been a mechanic/technician for 30 years. (not now) I used to do many clutches 'on my back' at nights and weekends, so I know first hand how hard this is. 90% of the guys I have worked with over the years couldn't do what you do in a fully equipped cosy workshop. Respect to you. Keep going. Just hope you have a master plan. You don't want to be doing this in your fifties!

Totally agree, time is ticking, and with that kind of effort he is dealing with. I mean he's making several clutches per week. In a shop you have maybe one per week, if not less. I mean brakes and oil changes, exhausts etc. are easy when it comes to comparison with clutches.

Having fitted clutch's in for over 30yrs, 7 days a week, your arms/hands/shoulders wear away, working in the rain/snow/boiling hot sun hits you, I'm now 64 and out of the game, invest your money Kevin in property, that is what I did. but I must say, them power tools take the sting out of it, never around when I did this job.

D’day to you Bill. That bit of attachment that you mentioned makes all the difference.., it only occurred to me last year that by removing that part I can fully remove the gearbox rather than leave it partially on the subframe. But the newer version from 2019 onwards are much easier underneath but very complex at the top end. As can be seen in the specific repair video I made last month. Hope you’re keeping busy your end. Hitting the bolt with a running M12 will often break it loose. Notice how he does that. The ratchet has twice the power that way. On the high up bolts, I would often use two impact universals. The half inch gun has the beans to break em loose and spin them off. Saves loosening with a wrench or ratchet and then having to grab the M12. Super trick on releasing the inboard CV joint. Using that big chisel like a pickle fork. Gonna do that on my next Scion driver's side axle. No place to pry, at all. Another good one is the leg over the bar to keep control arm down while r and r ing the ball joint, especially the ones with the pinch bolt system. Hate that one. Love the three bolt ones on the Toyota. Battery trays r nasty. WD on the threads from the bottom when u can. Surprised u didn't bust out the K heater. Working the bottom with the hood closed, sweet! Have a great day! I have the same Mac 3/4 impact uni. U must have broke or lost yours. You're using one with 3 ground ID marks now. Miss the old one
