I just had an Interflip Dragon with a digit sticking. The reel looked the same as this Williams. I disassembled, cleaned the shaft and nylon gear with alcohol. Then reassembled with just a tiny bit of lithium grease on the shaft. Mine was clearly sticking due to gummed up old grease on the shaft. Interesting to see how similar the parts are across manufacturers. I know Sonic used Williams parts, but now I'm thinking Interflip must have done the same.

@@goatshedempinballrepair8545 I'm just watching this video after I already did the work. Moreso cool to see the similarities across manufacturers.

@chadcowan8130 yes some used licensed parts others made themselves but quality was lacking.

Love the bingos. I owned a 1957 Showtime, with the magic squares feature. … but their weight! Thanks for posting.

Very helpful video, thank you! My 1964 Williams Zig Zag is getting hung up on the number 9 when trying to reset to 0. This is in the 1's column but only happens when the score reels reset for a new game. During gameplay it will roll from 9 to 0 without issue. Do I just need to continue cleaning the mechanism again? Switches are tightened on the score reset relay and score reel. Thank you!

This is fairly common watch the score reel in game play roll over from 9 to zero ot will most likely struggle a bit. In reset ot could be a switch in the reset realy in the backbox. If its sluggish still check the pressure of the switches maybe to tight in the operating arm and need backing off a touch. Also the plunger spring could need a few loops cut off.

I will take a look and follow your advice, thank you! Appreciate the knowledge you share with these old games.

What size screw is used to hold the solenoid cage?

I really don't know my best guess is 5/32 but I'm unsure put a post up in one if the pinball Facebook groups someone will know or it may tell you in the parts manual.

Hi where do you purchase the plungers from please

We get most of our parts from The Pinball Resource in New York. Hard to get a lot of parts here in Australia.
