It is crazy that I used to play around that mine in the mid to late 80s. It wasn't overgrown as you have shown it back then. There was also no metal railings near the historical plaque 3:06 minutes in. I remember the metal pipe well, and also jumping between the the gaps where what I now know to be the location of the compressor base. I really had no idea back then how deep this mine was.

Used to play there as a kid; pink hills! I would have liked to have chipped in but was busy on the day. I'll have to wander up and appreciate your work!

Commendable work gentlemen. The drop-rock doom denouement is an excellent touch. John, Birmingham.

The rock dropped at the end didn't fall very far unless the video was paused. It takes over 14 seconds for a 1000m fall, so the rock probably hit an obstruction.

Excellent work,I always think shafts like that should be glass topped or steel meshed over and lit up.

How is Pengegon the best place to pump freshwater to Portreath? couldn't it be more easily pumped from closer?

Hi mate I’ve just been to this mine this evening. It seems a lot of it is buried in the shrub. There’s a small opening that I tried to explore but didn’t get very far due to the draining day. I would love to give you a hand clearing the place if you ever need an extra hand
