What a lovely getaway. As a senior on a very limited budget... I live vicariously through you. Love flowers and gardens... and old silver!!! That would have drawn me in , also ,like a moth to a flame. The patina is everything to me. I don't shine my pieces, but prefer the visual history of age. I can't imagine how wonderful it would be to shop and , eat something wonderful, walk by the water, see the sights... then end up in that bath at the end of the day.... with a fire, a good book, and a glass of wine! I died and went to heaven!

Oh, my goodness! This video was just beautiful! I felt I was right along with you enjoying everything. We were thinking about a late summer/fall trip to New England. I suppose we should get to the planning stage. It is almost the 4th of July! Do you know why I love your videos so much? Besides, Good Queen Bess which I adore, they are so calming. You get right to the subject without talking too much, I love the subject matter of gardening and home decorating and the videos can be watched over and over and are still relevant. My husband and I attended the Newport Flower Show on Sunday morning. It was beautiful and as a proud member of the Worcester Garden Club our club was well represented. It was nice to experience the show again. Newport is a magical town. Thank you for the video.

Lived in Rhode Island for 73 years. As many times as I have visited Newport, I have never been to the flower show. We love everything about Newport; especially how it has evolved over the years to what it is today. Glad you came back, Linda. Lovely video.

I really enjoyed this video. I'm an 18th century girl stuck in the 21st century. I have never been to Newport thanks to Hurricane Ike. Twice we tried to go and twice the weather had other ideas. Oh, my goodness Linda, you made me laugh out loud with the fly!! I always keep a glass of water by the bedside at night and never thought anything about taking a sip in the dark. Well, one night something hit my lip, I flew out of bed and turned on the light to find a deceased "stink bug" floating! I have made sure to cover my glass every night since, LOL!! My husband and I loved Williamsburg and never tired of visiting there . Since my husband passed away my family thinks we should all go on vacation together but sometimes I just want alone time. The Williamsburg room was a wonderful choice! WOW, simply beautiful. It reminded me that I have window swags tucked away in a similar Jacobean print that I am going to take out to use in our bedroom. It needs a complete overhaul as I have not been able to decide how I wanted to “do it up”! Your video today has certainly given me such inspiration. Thank you, thank you. Oh! Thanks for going to Newport! I lived one town to the west for most of my 77 years and how I miss it. Popping across the bridge for coffee and a croissant was no big thing. I was lucky to have a friend with a sailboat moored there and many hours were spent viewing Newport from the water. Alas, that was then and this is now (in Florida).

Oh Linda, here I am in Florida, using that whole area. I loved going to Newport. I brought a lady from Kansas to Newport. She was so enthralled with the beautiful paintings that the guide kept admonishing her to” move along, please”! She was an artist and these wonderful paintings were so temptingly close. I think she was in heaven. My hubby’s cousin owned for many years a store called something like, The Mouse House? I remember it was adorable. Not exactly sure any more, we’ve been here 23 years. So glad you had fun, and I enjoyed it too.❤️

Linda, every week I find I like your channel more and more. My favorite segments are your day outings and short overnight trips. I so envy how and where you live! -you get to take in all that colonial history plus beautiful homes. Though I’ve traveled a lot, New England is a destination I’ve not made. Wouldn’t you know, just as I was planning my trip I fell ill. My health has become a serious matter and doesn’t give me opportunity to travel. In fact, my mobility too has changed. So thank you for seeing and doing much of what I would liked to have done. You cannot possibly know how grateful I am. Ps. Let’s hear those ghost stories.

What a lovely enjoyable and beautiful way to spend some time with you, Linda. Thank you. The Williamsburg room reminded of my home growing up and my mother had the whole house in Apollo Room Blue which at that time was the name Martin Senour called the Williamsburg favorite blue paint. It was nice to see it again and the furniture, etc., a trip I'd certainly like to duplicate but rather far from Virginia.
