Quick explanation on mate: we call "mate" the whole drink. The leaves are the "yerba mate" aka "mate leaves", and the actual mate is the cup that you drink it from. Typically the original/classic mates were made from a hollow tiny pumpkin called "porongo", which is what Fran was talking about. In summary, and in parallel to tea it would be: Yerba mate = tea leaves Mate = teacup But we just call mate the whole drink. Also it has a very beautiful tradition of being shared by many people. So it really is a way to connect with others. Next Team Torque should feature a mate for both of the boys to share ❤

Yerba mate, also known as mate, is an herbal tea. It's a traditional drink in Latin and South America. It's made by steeping dried leaves from the yerba mate plant in hot water. Yerba mate can be served cold or hot. Calabaza/pumpkin, Wood, glass and steel are the cups you can use with a metallic straw to drink the mate.

yep mate is an infussion here in argentina, part of our tradition since comes from inside our country. It is a drink that you normally share with people when you are having a reunion with friends or family. The mistique of this drink is that, to be share with people while having lovely talks and moments or can be your company when you are byourself as well. Depedns the person if it is with sugar or without, but it is more traditional without, you can feel more the type of "yerba" the green thing that your are drinking. Also there are some tips that you have to know when someones shares with you their mate haha but that´s another story. LOVE U FRANQUITOO!!

En realidad no. Franco debe hacer uso de su buen manejo de la lengua y aprovechar mejor la oportunidad de explicar la cultura del mate al mundo porque lo explica malísimo.
