You're absolutely right about VTOL, by the way. The requirement for VTOL is that the axis of take-off is it's yaw axis. These ships are taking off in their longitudinal axis, which does not count as VTOL.

Could be wrong, but I’m sure some planes that took off like this in WWII, some due to lack of runways, some for ships that weren’t aircraft carriers, and they were considered vtol, but that could just be for the time

Like a space shuttle, the space fighter in reach leaves exosphere by means of an external rocket propulsion system that it is mounted to on the Y axis. The axis isn't the only consideration, because the aircraft has to be capable of hovering to make such a takeoff or landing. The harrier is a VTOL fighter aircraft, the MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor is a VTOL, And on that note, Halo's Falcon and Pelican would be considered VTOL Aircraft. I think the longsword fighter does a vertical takeoff at the end of Combat Evolved as well. Virtually every Marine fighter/transport craft in halo is a VTOL, *except* this one.

I've just played through all of them within like 2 weeks with a friend, and am half way through LASO rn, and I gotta say this is false. You can literally just sit back and let noble team deal with it 2/3rds of the time. There's a few tough spots but nothing you can't manage with a little patience. Halo CE however, there are parts like T&R and Library and TB where we just had to take a break in the middle. LASO Reach is by a decent marigin the easiest

When my friend and I played this, I grabbed the laser target designator (H-165 Forward Observer Module), then when we went up against the two Wraiths, I got lucky and killed them both in one ortillery shot. When the Pelican showed up after that, I got curious and targeted it. My friend was like "What are you-NO!" just as the ortillery fired. Turns out, the Pelican is unkillable, so at least we still got our airdrop. On the other hand, Catherine-B320 ("Kat") ended up killing us about 5 times EACH, apparently to teach us a lesson for daring to do that. 😂🤣

Sorry to hear you're feeling depressed, i feel many of us feel depressed and some of us have the tools to handle it better than others. Sometimes its disappointments or past mistakes bringing you down. Other times there is nothing wrong in your life and your brain wires are all funky. My mother was bipolar depressed, clinically diagnosed and medication didnt help her. She kept making the wrong choices and didn't wanna accept responsibility for her actions on top of other things I'd rather not discuss in the youtube comments. Long story short you are responsible for your own happiness; if you are depressed admit it to yourself, try to identify the source of your unhappiness, and better yourself. Find your path in life and blossom, pursue it endlessly with no fear of I can't. Work on being the best version of yourself and make your own happiness. You want something go for it, you wanna live in a van save up and have fun, you want the military they will take you, you want college there are paths into college, you can do whatever you want. I don't know anything about you but i know people accomplish great things when they get the right coaching and tools to succeed. You should really listen to jordan peterson. Also my friend told me "life is like a bookshelf, you can keep whatever books you want on the shelf(memories). But if you already read a book and you don't enjoy it you don't need to keep that book. You dont need to base your whole life around the worst moments. You can set those books in the garage or give them away to make room for the books you wanna read.
