He did a brief series on PBS talking about and illustrating musically the blues. I'd like to see that on the market.

Thank you for posting this. I'm so glad someone took the time to speak so intelligently with Willie Dixon while that was still possible. This is such a treasure!

Great, great interview with the Mastermind of Chicago Blues, Willie Dixon!!!! And what a great interviewer, along the lines of England's beautiful Paula Yates, able to bring out the best in her interviews!!! Includes Willie's deep philosophy on the Blues, "The Facts of Life" and an informal rendition of a recently composed song, "Good Advice." Just fascinating.

A very elegant speaker and an unheralded force in popular music. There should be courses taught on Mr. Dixon.

I wish I had video of Willie doing this for me when we were picking songs for my album in Chicago.. he would always do that double tap on his knees and sing the songs to me. I loved him to pieces. He had a plethora of great tunes that no one has even done yet. I still have the sheet music and lyrics in his handwriting..

I would have liked a question along the lines of, “Willie, how did the residuals or royalty payments work for you over a long period of time, on songs like Spoonful covered by Cream or Back Door Man by the Doors? Just as two examples.”

A friend of mine spoke to Mrs Dixon. She said that the British rock musicians who took to the blues (Yardbirds, Stones, etc.) gave the appropriate credit and respect to the Black originators with one exception: Led Zeppelin. They were, she said, not respectful.

@@wesleymantooth8016 Good point. She didn't say Yardbirds, and I didn't give it careful thought.

Why do you say something so nasty and ugly, Matt Walsh? Your opinion is unfounded and should be kept to yourself. 😡
