One of the greatest P4P boxers of all time! Willie Pep was known for his excellent speed, finesse and elusiveness. His footwork ranks up there among the very best in history along with his sharp counter-punching which is what I wanted to focus on for this highlight. Pep won the Featherweight title twice during his legendary career and his 4 fight series with Sandy Saddler was something to behold with their 4th and final fight being known as one of the dirtiest in boxing history. Will o' the Wisp at his sublime best! www.patreon.com/haNZAgod

Hello Hanzagod, my name is Daniel and I have a video request. Can you do a defensive highlight reel of Montell Griffin’s cross arm defense? Taught to him by Eddie Futch. Thanks
@hanzagod Жыл бұрын
@@danielmoses2440 You don't need to introduce yourself every time Daniel you've commented many times haha! I have tried to highlight Montell in the past but his style just doesn't translate well to a highlight reel, he was effective at what he did but I've not been able to make him look good before.

Here's a fact, Angelo Dundee (trainer to Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard etc.) studied Willie Pep and taught all of Pep's moves to his fighters. And just like Muhammad Ali said, float like a butterfly sting like a bee, his hands can't hit what his eyes can't see. Willie Pep is my all time favourite boxer and so underrated for the absolute boxing genius he was. You can't get more ring iq than Pep had 👑

Seamless V-steps - into shifts, into lateral circles, into pivots and rolls, all off a pendulum bounce. To be able to do all this during fighting sequences is phenomenal. To make it look so effortless is legendary. As the old timers used to say: "You couldn't hit him in the ass with a hand full of rice."

A lot of legends (Muhammad Ali for sure) definitely learned from this guy! The will-o'-the-wisp! He looked so elegant in the ring and made having defensive skills look easy. That rapid jab was definitely a signature as well. He looks like a little mosquito that kept on poking his opponent and draining the blood.

The Greatest boxer of all time! The man who was 108-1-1 before breaking his back and leg in a plane crash, and was told he might never walk again. But just 6 months later, he came back and defended his title successfully. Lost a close decision to Sugar Ray Robinson in the amateurs, and it was close even though Ray was 28 pounds heavier than him. Has more title defences than Robinson as well. 9 successful title defences. Finished his career with a record of 229-11-1. The Goat. 🇮🇹🇮🇹🐐
