I love this podcast, never miss a one. This one reminded me of things from childhood right on through adult life. As a kid in the early 70's in Arkansas dad mixed Copenhagen in our food when my sisters and I had worms. It worked. The roach in the ear reminded me of an incident around 1985 when as a new nurse (I'm retired now) a young couple brought their 7 year old girl into the ER with a broken arm, we took care of the arm, in the meantime their 3 year old had been in their car shoving foam rubber up his nose and packing it in with a pencil, I can still hear him screaming as the Dr. was pulling it all from his nose. Going back to 1980 as a newlywed we bought a portable dishwasher, something I'd never been around before, I learned that regular dish soap was not meant for dishwashers. The mouse story reminded me of when we first moved in our current house in 1992, I saw our dog trailing something along the baseboards, it was a mouse. I spotted him zip around the corner into the living room, we didn't have a trap one in the house, so I grabbed my Ruger 22 automatic pistol and waited for him to come around the room, as I knew he'd go under the wood stove. When he poked his head out, pow, dead mouse. I might be a redneck.

I love this episode with yall talking about the stuff we had to endure back in the day or the stuff we did. Some of the best memories I have are playing in the creek and mud and the ashes dumped out from the wood burning stove, with the pets playing along side us.
