Solid respect. Ive owned over 25 exotics, with Ferrari, your spot on. Ferrari generally makes engines which can be one offs. Ferarri is like art pieces, so that effectively makes most buyers "beta testers" because they dont have the market feedback that Toyota has on lets say a Camry where they've sold a million of them and they have a ton of feedback. Thats what makes a Lambo so great because of the Volkswagen R&D, thats where form factor meets custom..thats what makes the C8 Corvette platform so awesome. Im between a Lambo and a C8 Zr1 or Z06 (depends if i come up for allocation anytime soon). Thx Will

M177 is very unreliable. PCVs are prone to be stuck and blow up your rms and valve covers, both needed engine out or tranny out. Then your motor mount needs engine out services. Hopefully they do low pressure fuel pump line recall since those leaks.

My opinion on Ferrari's is you really need to find a Ferrari master mechanic to take care of your ride. I personally have always preferred a NA engine over a turbo charged one, just because I don't like the lag. Yeah steering on the F12 is touchy, hence why they improved the 812 with rear steering. Ferrari added the 7 year new car maintenance warranty to try to minimize costs with ownership of modern cars, but hey, these are machines, and they have too many parts that are always under stress, and it is so hard to find a perfect exotic car. These toys are just expensive all the way around.. But, I still ❤ my 599GTB.

Yes, truth be told I am lusting for another Ferrari F8 coupe but I’m going to take my time and see what the market has to offer but I definitely miss owning a Ferrari F8. How reliable American cars are?
@_SKDK_2 күн бұрын
McLaren and Ferrari I get. I talk to owners of those all the time at meets in ATL and even heard it when we got to drive them at road Atlanta. Lotus I disagree with. The new one might be sketchy due to the change in ownership but the old ones have always had a rep for being tanks with the Toyota engines. The guy who owns a shop I frequent in Chattanooga owns an imported v6 exige and has gone with us on cruises to Gatlinburg and import alliance. They don't break, and even if they do, its Camry parts to fix them which you can find at any autozone/AAP unlike most super cars. Edit: To clarify, the 4 cyl exiges in America were running the Toyota celica engine (2ZZ-GE), the v6 ones we didn't get ran the 2GR-FE which was in the camry, avalon, rav4, sienna, corolla etc when Toyota topped the charts for reliability up there with Honda. You could have these serviced pretty much anywhere and parts are CHEAP.

Do your own research my friend

@@WillMotivation just some constructive criticism. The overall value ppl will gain from your channel will increase immensely if you bolstered your opinions with facts or some type of data of some sort. i believe you speak to vaguely of Lotus in this video mostly because the Emira and even it’s predecessors, Evora & Exige all share the same toyota V6 Engine. No car is perfect but for it to make a “Top unreliable cars list” is just wild to me. it’s a tuned modified camry engine. i never owned one so just speaking from forum knowledge of owners. If your referring to lotus prior to outsourcing toyota engines (like 2010 models and earlier) you might have a point but those use completely different engines and have no toyota reputation. if i were you i’d be clear and make that distinction in my humble opinion if you actually read this, appreciate ya time. keep up the work

With the Emira, I'd be far more worried about depreciation than reliability. That's why Harry Metcalfe (of Harry's Garage) got rid of his.

Lotus has a near 30 year history of using Toyota powerplants for their vehicles. The actual Lotus parts are sketchy, but there aren't tons of stories of Lotus owners having catastrophic failures unlike every other brand mentioned in thris video. Key to Lotus ownership is using a shop that knows to use Toyoa parts when applicable versus the much more costly rebranded Lotus parts.
@WaldemarPerezJr3 күн бұрын
The new Lotus is just a Toyota. I think it will have a longer life than older Lotus cars.
@paulshepherd82952 күн бұрын
No it's not. Lotus has been using Toyota engines and gearboxes for many years. That doesn't make them Toyotas. Using your logic, Morgans are BMWs.
