Willsenton R300: Output Transformer Replacement, Hashimoto

I still would not recommend investing in high end output transformers on this flawed amp design, but these Hashimoto HC-203U units seem to be a good price/performance compromise to resolve the glaring issues with the output transformers that are installed on this amp.
In a previous video it quickly became apparent, even after fixing the output transformer problem, there are other circuit design flaws. The front end is not capable of driving a 300B tube to full power without clipping, and changing out the front end tubes with NOS etc. doesn't change anything related to this fact.
The lowest common denominator turns out to be the weak, high distortion front end design this amp has, and that explains why a large amount of global negative feedback is needed, which you normally don't see any feedback used on a 300B amp, so you can here this tube in all it's glory!
The 300B is a classic direct heated triode that some say is the best sounding audio tube ever made. This amplifier has gotten a lot of positive reviews from YT influencers in the audiophile world and I'm excited to see if this amp lives up to all the hype that has been created around it.
