Most shows feel scripted and carefully crafted, but you can tell that this one is real and raw, it took a whole different direction than what they were going for. Will is a f cking goat for exposing this part of himself and sharing something thats extremely humiliating. Social media is filled with face-tuned IG pics, highlight reels etc etc - it's good to see something real on the internet again.

Who the isn’t emotionally fragile? This dude is surrounded by yes men, and a doctor filling his head full of bullsht. What he needs is a real life people as friends who don’t hold their tongue Around him and are honest but there’s too many scam artists out there and ppl falling over themselves bc of celebrity status it would be hard for a person like him to just find someone who’s just a true honest friend. If he says, “We are done it’s a wrap. I’m not doing this anymore” all his trainers and camera crew would just coward up and go, “Ok you heard him guys time to pack up.” Instead of being like, “knock it off, stop feeling sorry for yourself be happy with all you were blessed with, everything else will work it’s way out. You’re still young in today’s standards, you have nutritionists and trainers, there’s no excuse except the ones that you use to set you back. We are all depressed we ALL go through b.s have things we regret in our pasts, but we use those things to learn from, and grow. It’s what makes an old man wise. I dunno dude seems depressed, he just probably has too many enablers, probably a doctor who constantly tells him he has past trauma he hasn’t gotten over just so he can continue to use her just for her to say, “we have to work through these issues” CHA CHING, and it’s a never ending cycle of users flocking around. However if he went broke and home less which one of them would be in his corner? His doctor? His trainers? His Hollywood friends?

I've hit gym 3 times in my life. Right now is my third time. And, every time it was the same thing. I would gain weight before I lose it. First time it was 3 months of weight gain. Second time, was 2 months. This time it was one month. There is one thing I stopped doing, I stopped checking my weight all 3 times when I started. I checked my clothes, they felt loser. I checked my appetite, I got hungrier. I checked my water intake, cause I would drink 4 liters. Everything felt better. Your body replaces fat with muscle. You are constantly in this state. Will, I sincerely thank you and love you for being so vulnerable. It takes a lot to admit this kind of stuff and doing this in front of the whole world, extremely powerful. I know so many men an I’m sure women too are saying how proud they are of you doing this. For myself, I too have put on weight that I’m not proud of. I’ve always been a slim man. I pride myself on on being a slender physic man. I don’t knock other men for putting on a belly. Some men looks good in it and I applaud them, but that doesn’t work for me. People tells me it looks good on me, but I don’t want it. I like being slim. It can become depressing. It is depressing. I try so hard to get it off, but it winds up increasing. Sometimes I give up and try to accept where I’m at. But, I can’t live this way. For you putting this out, it helped me to see, I’m not alone. And for this, I am grateful to you. BUT, I WILL bring down the weight. I’ve already claimed it and so it is. Now I have to put in the footwork and make it happen. Thank You Will, for your courage and honesty.

As someone part of the healthcare industry, it frustrates me seeing the ending of this episode. The disappointment in the results a scale gives someone as it crushes their dreams of an accomplishing week. There are so many factors that can go into a 1lb gain that isn't discussed which could easily change the demeanour of this video and his journey of getting to his target weight. He could be feeing 100 times better than the start of the week, yet just because of that single number at the end, his mindset is crushed, which is how most of society will feel. I hope people will look at the intangibles of physical activity, rather than the straight up number, which could be misleading for the most part, because of muscle mass gain, or just literally what you ate or drank the night before, to being slightly more stressed at the end of the week. My bad on the rant, but this seems to be a big platform so many people will see this video, not many will read this, but hopefully it'll push some to continue with the grind for a healthier life.
@leannereilly
@leannereilly 2 жыл бұрын
That's so true. Weight is just a number made up of loads of other little factors like water weight, stress and muscle like you said above. Breaks my heart to see how crushed he was and no one jumped in to reason with him and make him feel better :(
@larrymasterspowerbuildingc4477
@larrymasterspowerbuildingc4477 2 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right. The scale goes up and down. When you are disciplined in your diet and training, your hormones are in a cycle. And hormones--especially insulin, IGF-1, and growth hormone play a huge role. A lot of different hormones in that blood. A lot of salt, sugar, protein, and vitamins that all cause the scale to read differently. It's body composition that matters. How much water you drink, when you weigh, how stressful was your day or week for that matter or MONTH--- all of these factors affect the scale. A one lb gain at the end of the week is nothing to worry about. And honestly, if he is only losing one lb per week he is not training nearly hard enough, and his meal timing and carb timing and daily calorie count are too high. That first week should have been a doozy of a loss of at least 7 lbs. THEN A LB OR TWO after that for the next 3 weeks. He'd crush that goal if his advisors knew what they were doing.

The strangest thing about this entire serious is watching a man with so much fame and resources essentially do every single thing I've learned to be exactly the wrong thing to do. God bless you!! Thank you for this heartfelt video....I have a son who served 4 yrs in the Marines fresh out of high shcool, today at 27 he has his moments adjusting to civilian life again. Everything you talked about resonates with his childhood and as a vet. It's hard, it's overwhelming, it's not easy, it's exhausting, but no one is perfect. My son wears his heart on his sleeve, and life brings him ups and downs...but souls as compassionate as his and yours have shown years of exhausting encouragement and motivation and inspiration, I am so proud of my son and love him unconditionally. We are all here to learn and grow in the flesh, we all make mistakes or make choice that later become lessons in our lives or others....to which then God is there when we seek him, and God can turn any negative lessons into a positive lessons for us and others to glorify the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. It makes me sad seeing that he thinks he failed by gaining 1 pound on week 2, when he probably gained muscle mass. I remember when I was working out as a CrossFit gym, I weighted 145 and was chubby, but after 2 years of working out there, I never lost weight. I gained weight and weighed 150 at my most fit and I was muscular. We have to keep in mind the number on the scale doesn’t make you healthy/unhealthy, it’s what you feel and how you feel!

Yes a pound of muscle and fat look very different so you can be slimmer than before but heavier. So exactly, focus on how you feel and not the number on the scale. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been but that’s because I’ve lost fat and gained lots of muscle mass and I feel awesome 😍🙌🏻

The real question is why didn't the trainer do better to explain this. When you lift weights your muscles will retain water. You can make the argument that he should have lost more water weight than be retained... And he did essentially lose 5 pounds the week before (by not eating). Basically it was a a terrible control week. Ideally they should be doing weekly body fat testing or something better than the scale

Takes a bit for your body to adjust to your new cycle. I had erratic gains/non-gains in the beginning too, and the problem is, that's when we're most confused about what to expect. But now I'm almost a year in and I lost 52 pounds. It's all about developing a system. You have to build the tracks before you can ride the train. And I'm still not completely sure where the train is going!

Same goes for BMI... In BMI numbers Brock Lesnar is a heavy overweight fatty 🤷🏻‍♂️ We are used to use crap formulas for complex problems. But there are scales with the number we should monitor: fat rate. (Don't know, how it's called in English, but should be enough to get what I am talking about.) Plus the fat rate is better one to scale, because men and women are built differently, although some feminists will shout on me for this part of science. (I am really curious, when the first time a feminist wants men to give birth to the child. 🤦🏻‍♂️) And the most important thing is in the head, imo. If you are happy with your life and yourself, you are more attractive to others no matter the number shown on the scale. And happiness is a way to help the body stay healthy. 🤷🏻‍♂️ It's a Inner Circle. 😎

A lot of respect to Will for this and giving a glimpse of the struggle of trying to get in shape. In a lot of times, people do not show this side of the coin like this and the training is usually a montage of sped up clips of the training and then the results. Losing weight and getting in shape is no joke. Even with all the personal trainer and equipment, the process itself is very tough and can even be stressful and depressing at time. Great show. I created it on Nextlevel diet, which was super helpful at the time. I didn't have to worry about calories, macros, nutrients and all that stuff. This is as much about a persons daily mental health as it is the underlying story. He’s such an icon of my generation. I applaud will for jumping off this ledge… this was amazing to watch.

I grew up watching Will. Aspiring to be like him with his intelligence and determination. I love to getting to see him in a new light. It definitely grounds my concept of him. Makes him human and not bigger than life. A man trying to rebuild himself mentally and physically with a set goal in his head.

@@rock-ym3uf 16lb in one month is good work and so is 38lb in two months. In the army fat dudes lose around 40lb in 8 weeks, due to working out 1 hr in the morning and walking everywhere and not alot of food.

"I am legend" to "I am luggage" dude i felt that, Will in I am Legend was an Icon and Hero to me, the kind of person i wanted to grow up to be, a work driven, goal oriented, self disciplined, knowing how Will is human brings me comfort, and knowing he is willing to rise after a fall makes me cherish the idea of trying harder.

the great awakening...this is good stuff...and you are still funny even when you are upset - cos you are showing your humanity....you learnt about feelings with Willow...its time to look at your own feelings about yourself too. Love yourself. We love you man. I grew up with the fresh prince from all the way in Romania - you got me through some difficult times. Was smiling because of the fresh prince. My only reason to smile for some years. So no worries..keep going. You gave the world a looot. Will - we love you - get well. Chris - WE LOVE YOU EVEN MORE NOW. RESPECT.

I lost over 70lbs in last year. If you want to lose fat you need to train hard and eat clean. This is my story, the things started to change after I took a diet from nextleveldiet. It was plain simple, and easy to follow... Training was something like home workout (three times per week). I lost 11lbs of fat in first month already... This may be the best stuff on internet right now... YOu also have some online diet helpers, but believe me personal trainers are too much expensive.

Training hard isn't necessary, it just helps speed up the process. Your body burns over 1000 calories a day by just existing. Eating less is what's most important.

Training shapes the body and gives endorphines. You do not need workout or eat clean to loose weight.

I can connect with Will. One you hit your late 40’s and 50’s, what used to come easy seems unattainable. Will has always been in incredible shape. Once you stop, it seems gone forever. To reach that goal it takes total commitment, and what we all lack, patience. I work overseas in Africa, I will never reach that level of fitness again. It’s good to see Will push thru. It’s a mental game. Not seeing the results quick as we used to sucks the drive out of you. Will, incredible change physically and mentally! Your an inspiration to us old boys!!!

Deciding to lose weight and dedicating yourself to it is one of the biggest steps forward ever in someone’s life. When you spend 1-2 weeks putting your hardest work in and you don’t see the results its one of the biggest punch to the gut ever. Many fall after this and continue to their old habits. I don’t blame them I’ve been there. One thing is for certain that crossroad will test your true resolve and determination.
