In today's video I turn to one of the biggest fitness channels on the internet, ATHLEAN X by Jeff Cavalier to review one of his workout/diet programs that cost me $100. Was it a waste of money? I give you my honest review.
Hope you all enjoy the video! Thank you for watching

I’ve ran multiple Athlean X programs after previously working as a NASM trainer, working with athletes and soldiers, and having a 1895 lb total in bench, deadlift, and squat. Jeff knows his shit. He’s helped fix nagging issues I’ve had for years. And he helped me get back under the bar to add massive gains to my strength that combat injuries took away years ago. Haters going to hate. But without a doubt he knows WTF he’s doing. If you eat right, sleep well, and recover efficiently you’ll see big gains on athlean X.

@@skylermccloud6230 it's more in the vein of powerbodybuilding: there's exercises that are heavy weight and low reps for strength, there are exercises where the emphasis is on power, and there are exercises for hypertrophy. His niche is "train like an athlete to look like an athlete", and a lot of his programs follow this philosophy. If you're more interested in size gains, Max Size is a good one but it's FUCKING BRUTAL, especially that first month. If you're a beginner though, you'd be hard pressed to find a better program from Jeff than AX1. I always come back to it and it's where I've seen the most changes out of all the programs I've done, Athlean X and otherwise.

Nice transition! Check out Morley Robbins to learn some key levers to optimize Mg-ATP production, the chemical muscles need to function. The more efficiently you can make it with minimal exhaust the better off your gains will be, and the more healthy every aspect of your life will be. If you want to kick it up another notch, learn about the Zone Diet. Learn the basics of those two anti-inflammatory diets, and then modify them depending on your objectives. Don't fall for the low fat fraud, either. Just ingest your fat away from a high glycemic load (lots of carbs). Be smart and benefit for life!

@@user-ti1zj4iq5q underrated can for example be a exersice movement that people havent realised how good it is. Or perhaps a fighter that isnt very well known but very good. Underestimate can for example be that you assume something would be pretty easy to do, but in reality it was a lot tougher. Lets say you look at ninja warrior and think "I could probably do that" then you try the course and it was way harder then you thought. Then you underestimated how tough it would be. The thing is, if you just pick a program, and STICK TO IT, you'll look great. People have been building muscle and getting into great, authentic shape, for decades, centuries even. The issue most people have in this day and age is a lack of consistency, and they program hop like fucking mad mate. Bodybuilders, especially younger bodybuilders are the worst for this by the way. They are always searching for the magic program or some guru to tell them what to do, when actually it's really, really fucking easy. Pick a program, ignore all others - just stick to it mate, eat more calories than needed for maintenance if you want to grow, eat less if you want to lean out, eat maintenance to, well, maintain. It isn't difficult. And do things as they are. I'm not a bodybuilder myself, I'm a rugby player here in England, so my strength/power and conditioning work is deliberately kept very simple by the S&C team. That'd because it ain't nothing but GPP for rugby players. In the off season we run a simple, almost Texas Method-like based modality, in the pre season we switch to a program put together by our S&C team which accommodates the introductions of three rugby training days a week (skills, drills) and is based on one upper and one lower day rotating between hypertrophy, strength and then power blocks and one full body day, in season we lift twice a week to accommodate the recovery needed after brutal games played on Saturdays. That is based on full body, twice weekly training as a team, conventional deadlifts get dropped out in favour of the trap bar, but each session leads with an explosive movement (powerclean, power snatch, clean/snatch high pull, reverse med ball toss, box jump, broad jump etc) followed by a squat, a hinge, an upper body push (horizontal one day, vertical the next), pull (horizontal one day, vertical the next) and then some rehab-prehab movements (lat raise, face pull, band pull apart etc) and done. As far as I can tell, the entire team are big, powerful, fast and brutally strong lads, especially where I play in the forwards as a flanker (in the scrum).

I don’t know a ton about Jeff but watched one of his videos recently and have started going down the rabbit hole. I’m a teacher. Once COVID hit, I developed piriformis syndrome from sitting in a crappy office chair teaching online, instead of standing all day. Suffered off and on for over a year, 3 different doctors who just prescribed medication and general advice. Found Jeff’s video on the subject describing all of the anatomy involved and how to stretch your piriformis the RIGHT way, and more importantly how NOT to do it a.k.a. Foam rolling or intense deep stretching. He really does know his stuff and has a great way of teaching and delivering information. Allowed me to rehab my injury and to safely prevent further problems, since most of the advice I was following previously actually was serving to re-irritate it instead of rehabbing!
