Why wouldn't you just hook each lower clamp pad to each other or if they get in the way, take the lower pads off and bolt the bars together with a single bolt? What benefit do you get with that wooden connector?

My only thought is maybe a single bolt was tried and twisted when you really tighten it? Probably requires more pressure than these clamps produce though. Honestly if that failed I’d use two pieces of plumbers strapping(hanger iron as some call it) At which point you can make it as long as you want, of course it would take almost a full minute to really dial it in perfect…..

Or use a store bought perforated flat bar to connect the two for under $5 and save your time. Or buy a pipe clamp. Or use a parallel clamp. Or...

i made such thing years ago just a thick metal bar with lot of holes , it was fast made and i made a whole bunch of them so now i can whenever i want extend all my glue clamps, a simpler version of yours. but yours looks better of course , mine is just a strip with holes.

Silly me! 🤦🏻 I took the clamp ends off and just joined them together with a bolt. Sadly it only took 1 minute to achieve 😔

Fine take the heads off to make one long one if you need. By one single bolt through the bars would have worked better

this is great for certain applications that don't require centered clamping force; you can see that the cauls you use want to pinch up and inward because of the angle of the clamping force. still, this could save us in a pinch.

That just puts uneven pressure on the thing you are trying to clamp, which means it's potentially going to bow. You don't have the bar to keep the clamp heads aligned, so in most cases this would be if you had no other option type scenario. Otherwise just buy/make a bar clamp.

Решение - один болтик с гайкой в те отверстия, и всё ..... 🤷‍♂️ Можно проще Но всё равно было приятно смотреть за аккуратной и профессиональной работой. Поставил лайк 👍

А чё нельзя взять две полоски металлические и просверлить отверстия о соеденить винтами или болтиками и полоски подлиннее и по не сколько отверстий?

Das funktioniert auch ohne das Holzgebildet, z.B. mit einem einfachen Blechstreifen. Manche Leute machen sich gerne unnötige Arbeit.

This is how you turn something really simple out of something what would likely be very hard. Reminds me about Woody Hyezmar’s Woodworking Bible which is being given away and can try go’ogling, but I’m not so sure, have a good one!
