Great to see you back John..you've progressed a lot since the last video. If this is indeed a 1941 Jeep then that should make it a very rare Slatgrill Jeep. I do hope you restore it back to its original 1941 condition.

Thanks for taking the time to comment! Love the name Olive Drab Garage! It is tempting to go full resto but not in my budget. We instead are going to keep the patina look to honor all that this Willys has experienced and make it more user friendly with a modern drivetrain.

The only Jeeps I want now after experiencing the cancer that is Fiat that infected the company is one of these real jeeps! I almost had a 55. Sadly in my part of the country most are rotted out and people think they are made out of gold.

I used grade 8 bolts on the front and rear crossmember’s so they are easily removed if they have to come off

The front bumper is 46” long. There are 2 smaller rear bumpers that I do not yet have so I’m not sure on those

Either just in front or just behind the removable center cross member what is the proper height of the frame side rails? On a factory CJ3A that hasn't been modified. I have a chassis that has some rust repair and I need to see if they did it right. I'm pretty sure the MB side rail are the same height.

That measurement is right at 4 inches.

Correct , it was on back order for almost a year with Kaiser Willys but fortunately C & C had them 😀

What is the material thickness on the chassis

For the replacement metal we went with 14 gauge. We found it was the closest to the original frame thickness
