Hi Jason. When talking about the ammeter you mention that the black wire on the “-“ post goes to the solenoid? Should it goes to the Volt reg Bat terminal?

I have a 12v gm 1 wire 63amp alternator. I still want to use an ammeter. I found a 100amp ammeter, assuming I can wire the ammeter the same way I would as if there was a 6v system?

“You could certainly give it a try. Just make sure you install an inline fuse between the alternator and the gauge”
