Wilmington and Western Railroad - Lerro Productions Photo Charter

On January 29, 2011, Big Jim Video Productions was honored to be present at his first Lerro Productions photo charter - held at the Wilmington & Western Railroad, on the outskirts of Wilmington, DE. A relatively heavy snowfall a few days before, on top of an earlier blizzard, provided a "winter wonderland" (so to speak) for 4-4-0 #98 and her two-car passenger consist. The American-type engine looked and sounded awesome crossing through the snow-covered woods of Delaware. Thanks to Pete Lerro and the entire Lerro Productions crew, as well as the fine folks of the W&W for all of their hard work to pull this charter off! It was well worth it! Enjoy this video!

See, the plan was, we clear the packed ice with the loader so 98's pilot would clear. however, after the loader came through, some of that packed ice ended up back in the flange way, so we brought the diesel through on the head end to run that over, rather than risk 98's pony truck jumping off. we just kept the diesel on the head end for the rest of the day as an extra safety precaution. it wouldn't be worth anything that has the risk of derailment.

​​@@dagger1-14098 only looks like 1223 because her appearance is different from how she looked when she was built. She has a pyle electric headlamp now. Her design follows the same one That the D16 class was derived from, America's "Standard 4-4-0" Design
