I just ordered all of my parts for an upper yesterday including the Wilson spring and a 5015 buffer. I will put another comment here in a few days when it comes in

I ended up using a Strike Industries flat wire spring on mine with the Kynshot and it worked flawlessly. It's a Colt 635 clone build with a A5 tube and two spacers.
@Blowback95 ай бұрын
Strike is tight (lube the buffer!) but apparently not as tight as the new Wilsons!

Or just get a Tubb Lightweight, Tubb Carbine, or MidwayUSA AR Stoner flatwire. They're all good to go, but the Midway is a little noisier in the tube.
@zakbanks18535 ай бұрын
Thanks for looking into this! I’ll wait to hear back before ordering another WC spring or just going with the Stoner or Tubb lightweight option. I had ordered the WC spring to use on the 5015HD and it would not fit without a lot of effort.

Thanks for the video, I just got my parts in on Saturday, May 11 and after seeing your video, check them to find that I am also having a problem with the buffer spring fitting on a RB 5007. That is also a problem because I ordered the 5015. Thanks for your video.

Could I use a dremel to bore out the inside of a flatwire spring so it can fit over a kynshot 5015? I am from Canada where our parts availability is mediocre and the strike industries spring is the only flatwire available to me. It would only need like 0.01” removed.

I got the RB5015HD buffer and Wilson Combat spring in today, and it is too tight. When I compress the spring after it's on the buffer, it does not return to fully relaxed. Although when it is compressed a certain amount, the spring widens and allows the buffer to slip through the coils like it should. I wonder if it would be compressed enough in the buffer tube at its longest point where it wouldn't be an issue. the only way to check would be if you take one of your buffer tubes with cuts for your slow mo video and rack the bolt slowly and watch the spring around the buffer.
@Blowback95 ай бұрын
Possibly, but that's not optimal. It should slip right in with very little effort. WC still hasn't gotten back to me....
@ethanlomshek67785 ай бұрын
@@Blowback9 just curious, on your WC springs, are the edges of the spring rounded over, Or is it a cut, square edge? Mine is rounded over.
@Blowback95 ай бұрын
@@ethanlomshek6778 It looks like the wire is just sheared off.
@ethanlomshek67785 ай бұрын
@@Blowback9 I'm willing to bet they switched to a wire that was smashed flat instead of cut and then formed into a spring. That rounded edge sticks inward just enough to be too tight. Thanks for the replies, keep up the great content!

I just received a WC flat wire spring for my kynshot RB5015HD. It slid on nice and smooth. I test fired about 5 rounds through it (flip flops off my deck.) Smacked steel at 72 yards and locked back. Springfield 9mm pcc. Maybe it was NOS?
@Blowback94 ай бұрын
Could be - the way the reports are coming in, I'd suspect so.

I know you've been recommending the WC spring but I was disappointed by it. It works fine but it's no quieter than a standard spring. I switched to an Armaspec braided spring which is significantly quieter, though it is a very snug fit on my KVP buffer.
@Blowback95 ай бұрын
Thanks for your input! I've found it to be much quieter, but I'll look into that spring.

Got mine in yesterday and it won't fit. Can I run just a standard AR15 round wire buffer spring with this system until I figure out an alternative? Keep in mind the round wire spring is about 3 inches shorter before being compressed.
