I got a grip safety on my 1911 and honestly would sell it if I didn't have custom grip panels on it I love, literally the only reason I'm keeping it. Guns with grip safeties belong in the trash. Grip safety = training wheel safety for idiots who know nothing about guns and always put their finger on the trigger even when they aren't going to fire it because it makes them feel less like the powerless slug they are.

Great video!! I used mine in a few holsters with a SF X300U. Usually a Tenicore Malus Sol was my best one I used. I do still use it with other 2011/1911s. Biggest mistake I made was selling it!

TT gunleather will make you a holster for a reasonable price. Outstanding quality! I have 2 for my staccato C2 and my SFX9 fits pretty well in them as well. Which plate are you using on you tlr7?

WC let you keep the gun after review? Man I need to start reviewing guns lol. I just got a 2011 Staccato C2 not too long ago and the grip seems a bit fat for my smaller hands. The SFX9 looks like it has a thinner grip. How do you think the SFX9 compares to the Staccato C2 (or the EDC X)?

Wilson used to hand fit pistols, but with CNC machining, they only need to check function. I’m a fan of CNC, so take it for what it’s worth.

I’ve always thought the same about that line of thinking. Who cares if the cops take it if it worked in saving my family. Pretty sure you can get it back but as far as I’m concerned it’s money we’ll spent at that point

Right. You buy it to save your life. If it complete it’s objective then it earned its bacon for a relatively cheap price. Funerals and medical bills are more expensive than the gun.

Excellent Video, for an excellent gun. I own 6 Wilson Combats and they are ALL PHENOMENAL. I am working on a 10mm Wilson 1911 Tactical Supergrade build. Their Experior 1911 is absolute butter and is my EDC. Between that and the Experior X9.... Just insane how good this gun is. To all the Staccato fans; Get your hand on a Wilson, you'll ditch the Staccato real quick. I did.

I carry a "Black Edition" SFX9 daily. They don't do DLC on their barrel, but I forget what type of coating it is. The coating doesn't last long on the high contact areas, but after 8k rounds, I like the way the wear looks on the barrel and gun. I have a Surefire X300U-B in a Tenicor Malus Sol holster

Thank you for your video! Does the Wilson SFX9 have any MIM parts? How reliable is it compared to the Staccato C2? Does it have the same finish as the Staccato? Can a HE508T-GR X2 be mounted directly on the pistol or does it require a special plate? What kind of ammo can it take; i.e., does it jam with lower grade practice ammo? Thank you. JP

My edc is the sfx9 in 3.25 and as nice as it carries.... it shoots even better. Words just don't do it justice. Not even slightly snappy and ridiculously accurate. Money well spent..... My one gripe... and ONLY gripe is that I can't currently mount the RMR cc. It seems to be made for a really small optic though the one you have seems to fit it nicely?

Minor, well, for me, major correction. I own an EDC X9. I'm a leftie, and unfortunately WC is decidedly NOT leftie friendly. Other than the ambi safety, that's about it. You can't even change the mag release to the right side of the gun. Yeah, even their Rep seemed embarrassed. I love the gun, but as a leftie, it is disappointing. I also have their leftie, yeah leftie, Protector AR. Believe it or not, even it doesn't have ambi controls. I simply bought it because it is hard to find left hand ejection port for rifles. Given the rarity of that, it is completely shocking that the other controls aren't ambi. I want to love WC, I really do. Their quality is first rate....if you are right handed.

If you have a surefire x300 or similar light check out the Tier one MSP holster that works of the light and not the gun.

They do offer a DLC Coated barrel. Two of mine have it. It just wears not that great. The silver comes back through. They have several "Black edition" models.

Seems like there is no way to see or fire an SFX9 before buying it. Handguns that costly are not available at my firing range. My second concern is the higher level of maintenance that it requires. It is so finely tuned with parts that have a tight tolerance that the video says it has to be cleaned more often than other handguns.

Those are their electronic ear pro. Noise barrier micros I believe. The front sight is stock on the sfx9 and so is the rear on the optic plate.

Can someone please explain to me very clearly, what the differences are between the SFX9 3.25 inch versions? I’m confused! What I think to be true, is one has a shorter and more compact grip as compared to the other! I’m confused on the 10 round and 15 round versions!!!

I can explain. The SFX9 series refers to solid frame. There is a 5 inch version, a 4 inch version and a 3.25 inch version. The 3.25 inch version can come with either a 10 round magazine, or a 15 round magazine. The ergonomics a really identical. The shorter barrel, of course means it requires a little more work to make it is accurate, but believe me, it’s plenty accurate. I have hit steel plates at 80 yards. The only limit is your ability. I have several thousand rounds through my SFX93.25 inch and I have never had a misfire. Ever. It is incredibly rounded and smooth, making it an incredibly comfortable concealed carry. The most comfortable I have ever carried.

The only down side to it is it’s a steel slide riding in a aluminum frame , if it had steel rails inserts in the aluminum frame I’d be all about it .

You lost me when you said your carry gun needs a light on it. Well my nightstand gun has a light on it but there’s no way my carry gun will have a light. I do carry a light in my pocket but a light on the gun means you’re muzzling anyone you shine the light at. Not good my friend.
