The Wilson DYNAPWR Carbon and Titanium drivers have attracted a lot of attention from reviewers across the platform. Wilson have priced these drivers at £349 for the Titanium and £399 for the Carbon which is significantly less that other popular manufacturers. Can this driver produce similar results for less money?

I have the Wilson Carbon with Ventus Red 7s and the Paradym Triple Diamond with Ventus Black Both Velocore Shafts. The Distance between these are equal. The difference is the Wilson is much more Forgiving and I find the fairways a lot more. Hope this helps 👍🏼

After having a fitting for Taylor made and Callaway 2024 new models, I ended up switching from being a lifetime taylor made driver player to the Wilson Dynapwr Carbon and the difference is amazing. Speed is up, gained about 10-20m off the tee, forgiveness is amazing and the sound is the best sounding driver I've heard. The fact the Wilson was cheaper was just a bonus as the numbers and performance spoke for themselves. (FYI I'm 5hcp with a swing speed of 110mph)

I've been playing Wilson irons for years...all the way back to my first set which were Wilson Goosenecks. And I still play Wilson irons which I believe are the best irons for the money on the market today and have been for years. I've played Callaway, Taylor Made, Titleist, PXG and Ping but I always come back to a Wilson forged iron....always. So I will be giving this driver a test driver for sure. I play a TSI 2 now and will test it side by side. I play off a 8 handicap so love the Carbon sound but I'll try both models because it's all about what performs for me. Dan keep producing great content and I really like the product reviews....please do " on the course" review of your favorites this year. Thanks again and keep it up!!!!!!!

I would happily try these Wilson said drivers. The brand has slipped down the pecking order over the years but I still produce excellent golf clubs. Without going for a fitting, I think the titanium model would suit me more than the carbon.

I bought a new driver last year so I am not in the market for a driver at this point in time. If I was in the market I would definitely make trying out the Dynapower line form Wilson at the top of my list. From all the reviews I have read and watched there seems to be surprise reaction to how good these drivers perform, sound and feel. I think Wilsons recent focus in the non iron markets is coming to fruition. I feel it is a good thing there are more valid options for buyers than less and Wilsons absence as a valid driver choice may be coming to an end. Good job.

It would be useful if each time you review a driver you hit a few with whatever you currently have in your bad (tsr?) hitting on the same day would reduce the impact of day-to-day variations in your swing and would then help us see if the test driver is longer, more forgiving etc compared to your current benchmark.

Not that surprised since the specs are about maxed out and there does not seem to be any proprietary technology that has any one company with a lock unless they have very small R&D budgets. Love to see a few comparisons with more of the up and coming drivers from PXG, Mizuno, and other brands that are known for their irons and less for their driver / fairway performance. (Wilson seems to be a good fit with closing the gap on woods.

Hi Dan I gave up golf snobbery a while ago in favour of the mizuno stz great club but too high launch very little run. my problem. Bought the carbon on the weekend & had a absolute ball with it. 15 yards on average 🎉 and workable. The AI is seriously impressive and for a 10 hdcp something that i didn't have previously is awesome. For me prices irrrelevent the club looks simple and does a great job well.

Have not hit these yet but the heads look awesome especially like the look of the titanium driver. I have hit both now and loved both. I have a callaway rogue st LS and have tried new Ping G430, Titleist , callaway, Srixon , and I like the Wilson better than all of the new drivers coming out. I do like the Rogue I have but I like the look of both Wilson drivers better and believe I will purchase one of the two.

I think the blowing the mind idea is because of the price……having said that they have really nailed the looks. Haven’t tried one so can’t comment on performance. Project x shafts don’t really excite but that’s easily remedied. If they got some tour usage i think they’d fly off the shelves….

Feel like you need to hit more than 5 shots with each Dan. There was a clear mishit (high on the face?) with DPTi where spin dropped right down to 1600 and ball speed was less by about 4mph. That should be taken out of the numbers and replaced with a better strike, or hit more shots so it doesn’t skew the numbers. I think in truth the ball speed would be closer between the 2 models, and spin would be a bit higher with Ti which provides the extra forgiveness. Also, you didn’t mention whether you saw more draw bias from the Ti vs Carbon - can you comment on that? Thanks for reviewing DYNAPWR, great to see Wilson Staff finally making some great drivers!

My TSR3 is made out of 100% titanium and it sounds amazing! It doesn't sound tinny or loud. Ping drivers sound terrible. So basically, does it sound more like a Titleist or a Ping?
@cameronloveless1751
@cameronloveless1751 Жыл бұрын
The Carbon sounds more like the Titleist than Ping. Consistently hearing people say that it may be the best sounding driver of 2023. Right up there with Paradym, TSR & Stealth2. But the Titanium does sound tinnier - maybe similar to G430? But nowhere near as bad as G425!!
@codycook3382
@codycook3382 Жыл бұрын
@@cameronloveless1751 Yeah the g425 is the worst sounding driver since the nike sumo in the early 2000's! There is no excuse for a 500-600 dollar driver to sound anywhere near that bad. I think the tsr3 is the best sounding driver I have ever hit but the paradym isn't far off. I haven't hit the stealth2 yet. I didn't like the sound or feel of the first stealth at all. It sounded and felt dead to me and I usually love Taylormade Drivers. I gamed the M3 for 4 years before switching to the tsr3 about 3 months ago.

I love Wilson. I play Staff Blades. I game the Carbon head. I owned the Paradym and Stealth. I prefer the Wilson. I do find similar results with the Stealth however. Why not save yourself a few bucks? Now, you are a trader, the Wilson have very little trade value. May change in the future but is what it is, now.

What was the dispersion for each driver? If Wilson adds a moveable adaptor as you suggested then I would image the price would increase. I suppose it is a trade off.

4 things to say on price. 1: they already have a the D9 range in that price bracket, and it continues alongside DYNAPWR. 2: DP has been designed for tour level performance with I dare say a lot of R&D $ spent so reasonable price tag really. The Carbon is still $50 -$120 cheaper than equivalent models from the big 5 (Titleist, Ping, TM, Callaway & Cobra). The DPTi is $120- $170 cheaper, so that’s significantly less. 3: if they were priced a lot lower they probably wouldn’t be taken seriously 4: in the past you’d likely lose more when you sell a Wilson driver than what you saved when you bought it. But I have a feeling that DYNAPWR is going to get a cult following, it is that good, meaning this could be the first time in ages that prices for used Wilson drivers don’t fall thru the floor. Time will tell

Hi Michael, are you planning on a fitting? Night launch 🚀 is good, but if the swing has slowed you may need a little more spin to keep the ball in the air. Get fitted and let me know the outcome, also a shaft may really help with results 👍
