Just bought the Wilson F2000 because of your review. Can't wait to throw with it, coming from a GST.

I should review that ball in its own video - it’s really a solid product. Enjoy buddy!

I was the one who commented about the omega on the other video. I ended up copping the red leather omega. The leather actual feels like leather and is different than the dark leather. This leather however, is extremely soft. Brushing still doesn't do anything, but has grip because how soft the leather is. It does feel like leather, but doesn't get that slippery sound when running your finger across it like the other leather footballs.
@CBPJoeyАй бұрын
where did you get it? Do you have any pics?
@Zachary-b6tАй бұрын
It's almost impossible to get it in canada, and kept checking ebay and eventually one popped up, brand new. Sideline swap may have it aswell. There is another one that popped up on ebay a few days ago I think is still up for sale. I don't have pics but can take some.

Would love to see your version of the ball. It’s still so popular online, but it’s definitely not the trash I have.

I get what you are talking about. When I got mine, I didn't really like it, and I was confused on why the leather was so much darker. I do believe that the handling process of leather may make the leather turn a different color. I had the same thoughts as you. However, after using mud on it, it got better, and after I used leather conditioner, tack spray, and a tack bar, it got much better. It got better even though I did a terrible job at mudding it. Doing that coupled with using it a lot has given me one of my favorite footballs. You may have a defective product, but mine works perfectly. I hope this helps!
@CBPJoeyАй бұрын
Maybe you’re right? I should just take it to the park and throw it for an hour and see what happens. Already used the Wilson conditioner on it, rack bar etc - no change at all.

You should get one of the GoTeam footballs. They’re $40, composite, but the feel is amazing and I get compliments on it from every person that throws it. I have the white one, but they come in different colors. Great shape, great laces, great feel, soft, and you can really launch it. Super easy to catch too.

I’d review one if they sent one but I don’t think they sell em around here.

I got mine directly from Wilson 3 weeks ago and it's the exact same as yours. It feels fake and won't change/break-in no matter what you do.
@CBPJoeyАй бұрын
Absolutely trash. For that price it’s completely insane that you’re shipped that garbage. By the way - go to the Wilson website and watch their Omega break-in video, it’s a completely different ball.
@jackstrand3181Ай бұрын
I noticed the same thing that the ball doesn’t feel like actual leather. They feel like a composite ball you might get for $20 at Walmart. To add to that, Wilson claims they added more tech than any other ball to increase spin rate, velocity, distance etc. I certainly felt a decrease in velocity and distance especially in trying to make longer throws to the field when compared to the GST. I also noticed an increase in arm pain during camp when we used them compared to the GSTs. I can’t imagine trying to throw these in the rain or if the field is wet because I don’t think it would even be possible. Wilson should be ashamed of this poor quality football that they are trying to pawn off as their best item.
@CBPJoeyАй бұрын
agreed on all counts - Wilson really dropped the ball on the omegas
@jackstrand3181Ай бұрын
@@CBPJoey seems like they were made just as a marketing scheme. For QBs who have thrown enough that they can tell the difference between a good and bad ball and can tell when they have to give more effort just to throw the ball softer and shorter, it’s awful. It’s not even just the quality of leather but how bad the ball flight is. Not sure if Wilson has nobody who notices this or if they just don’t care about QC.
@CBPJoeyАй бұрын
Scheels? Never heard of that one. Might have to check it out.

I watched this video but was already dead set on buying it. Bought it. Regret buying it. Should’ve went with the ol faithful gst

Hang in there. I have another Omega and a video to make still - might give you a little bit of relief!

It's bad. We bought them for our college and now have to deal with the sunk cost of going back to the GSTs. Got them directly from Wilson as well. We wanted to switch because the quality of GSTs continue to just get worse and worse for reference. If we order 18 we get maybe 5 game balls out of them. Not sure what happened to Wilson over the years and we are contracted by our conference to use Wilson as our game balls
@CBPJoeyАй бұрын
you serious? So some of them come usable/leather and the rest come like this? man that’s really terrible QC, almost impossibly bad
@justin_czech15Ай бұрын
@@CBPJoey well the Omegas all just come like the one you got. The pre treated leather is just awful. The GSTs come with a variety of issues. Leather issues, shape issues, etc. The good ones of the GSTs are at least still good, but we've started to just go to Scheels and buy up only the ones we can pre check to make sure they are good
@ILruffian14 күн бұрын
Sorry to hear that you got pumped in the seat. So many photos out there of Wilson balls with bad QC that should have never gotten out the door. You are paying good money, and they sell you mismatched crap. At the very least, you should be able to pay $20 more per ball and get one that is hand selected. Then again, they shouldn't be selling these bad balls to anyone. Edit: see the follow up video he made. Turns out a Wilson executive contacted him and they sent him a good one. That Ohio factory is capable of making great balls. The difficulty is getting one of them.
@ILruffian14 күн бұрын
@@justin_czech15 Hand inspection before buying is the way to go, if possible. It's a shame that Wilson doesn't have someone doing this before they go out the door. Big Game USA makes a better product. Sorry to hear that you are stuck using Wilson due to an agreement made by your conference. Your coach needs to go to the annual meeting next year and raise hell. The lawyer for your conference needs to call Wilson.

Which do you think is better? The dime or vapor elite? I also have the omega and it also looks like yours but feels surprisingly good?
@CBPJoey2 ай бұрын
The dime is nicer out of the box, but the ceiling after break in etc might be higher on the VE
@ILruffian14 күн бұрын
Both are made by Big Game USA. Very similar.

Really disappointing for the most expensive football around. Do you plan on reviewing the nike championship ball?
@CBPJoey2 ай бұрын
I want to but I’ll need to pick it up. I’ve held it at a local retailer, it’s pretty high quality before break-in, can’t imagine you’d regret that buy.
@skendercoma7462Ай бұрын
@@CBPJoey I’m really interested because it’s advertised as a “slightly smaller” ball but I also saw that it’s actually more rubber than leather in the specs which gives me a little caution
@CBPJoeyАй бұрын
it’s not smaller. If money is no object, buy a dime or Vapor elite, or GST/gst prime If you want something a little cheaper, the Team Issue Money Ball is a very strong option allegedly, and I’ll vouch for the leather quality given that I have a Team Issue Dual Threat and it feels great.
