I love how increasingly exasperated Lee becomes trying to believe anything about Shazia's story 😂🤣😂

The first time I watched it, I couldn't help but cringe at how unrealistic the story seemed. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was actually true. What an instant classic.

Shazia definitely been studying hard for that degree in "Bob Mortimer Storytelling". That was ridiculous. 😂😂😂

Good moment when Lee tells Craig it’s not Jeremy. This is a good example of why the show is still fresh and has lasted so long - they’re still finding new ways to play with the format.

I'm confused. This is not a premiere - I've seen it already, ages ago. It's also not a full episode...
@theoneandonlygus1Ай бұрын
Its a premier on here.
@crimsontyphoon8308Ай бұрын
Premiere in youtube terms just means the video is scheduled to air in real time at a specific time and can be watched live (as it is at the time of writing) - it doesn't mean WILTY think this is brand new content they are showing off for the first time. As its current live we also can't determine if it is a full episode or not yet

Why don't the BBC make new episodes?
@KackieJennedyАй бұрын
Fair question. Apparently some new episodes come out in December (if.) They treat WILTY as if it were a take-it-or-leave-it programme, I guess. Which is a marketing suicide, IMO

To me it's kind of incomprehensible why there are so few episodes made per a season. Given the program's popularity, the channel should record double the amount of episodes. Why is WILTY not on for a full season? (That, in terms of a television season; September - May, let's say.) Makes no sense that the "season" begins in December - if at all) with a "Christmas special", and then it finishes after 7 or so episodes. The taping of this episode for instance was when Lee Mack was 54. Now he's 56. So what happened during the intermittant 2 years? How are even these seasons counted? Taking such huge leaps in time between "series" is a luxury when it comes to one of the leading shows of the channel. WILTY does a lot of heavy lifting for BBC as far as view count goes.
@budle89Ай бұрын
they recorded the show between May - August and new series typically started to come out around Christmas. Lee's birthday is in August, and this was recorded last year before his 55th birthday, aired somewhere around late December to February this year. So, Lee has celebrated two birthdays since this episode was recorded and then got uploaded here. Why they're not making more episodes per series, I don't know.
@craigy1776Ай бұрын
It's very standard for British TV shows to record fewer episodes and take longer breaks between series. In this case, Series 17 ended in March of 2024, with Series 18 scheduled to premiere this month. Pretty standard for BBC. On the short side, even! The three permanent stars have very active careers, often working on multiple TV series concurrently. WILTY isn't necessarily the center of their world.

@mrhaltonokАй бұрын
Slightly bemused by this comment. For a start it’s not a ‘season’ it’s a ‘series’ eg this episode comes from series 16 of WILTY. They clearly make each series based on how many panelists they can find who suit the shows ethos, how many true stories the captains can come up with each year, and the availability of the three regulars. Why on earth would they want to dilute a successful, long running formula by making more episodes, dropping the quality, and having to cast ‘anyone who is an available’ to fill episodes? Honestly, it would end up as bad as any American show where they chuck any old rubbish in to make the 20 episode quota
