The fact that Kyrgios is admitting that he's capable of winning, but it just depends on how much he trains, and never overtly admits that he isn't trying or aiming for a GS makes it impossible for the press to actually use that against him. I think Kyrgios has immense admiration for Nadal and Federer and Djokovic. But he is so jealous that he doesn't have their drive. So it comes out in hissy fits and snide comments. I mean he trains way more than he says- that's just a ploy so he can say "look I beat Nadal with no training" and also so he has an excuse for losing. But that passion isn't there. If he loved the game he would give 100% whether the score was 5-0 or 0-5

It's his arrogance, borederline narcissism that upsets a lot of people. He constantly acts like a spoiled brat who thinks himself above the world. He stated multiple times that he doesn't like tennis and does it just for the money, he doesn't care about becoming a better player.
@mvfc7637
@mvfc7637 5 жыл бұрын
Kiddo I think his statement’s that he doesn’t like tennis are taken too literally, he turns up for the big matches. He’s having fun and enjoying the opportunities the money gives him. What he needs is a crew around him who can present a plan to him which outlines the next two-three years of his career and how they’re going to get him there, then he needs a tough disciplarian of a coach to put him into shape mentally and impart some discipline on him.

@@TheDestructorOfficial that was exactly what Bernard Tomic always said. Now, no money came in. It isn't cheap for any player to go and play Wimbledon. Isner made it clear that if he lost in the first round he would be losing money because he would have booked accommodation, which in itself is extremely expensive in London. The accommodation as well as salaries for his team and no knowledge of how far he would go in the tournament. Sure the big 4 have property around the world but to make that kind of money requires commitment, endurance, and a desire to be No. 1. Nick is there for all the wrong reasons. And there is nothing wrong with that. As a fan of tennis, i see your point of view. But now, look at his point of view. He doesn't want it like that, at least not now. It's not a big priority for him. There's other things in life, his health, his wellbeing, family, etc. Should be nothing wrong with that, but that reasoning gets disregarded immediately because all the public cares about is his mindset and performance, not his own life. He's controversial because he's real. He calls out the media, and rightly so. The media is atrocious, twisting people's words, making things seem like they're not. People are such big haters because they fail to see all points of view, and most importantly his point of view

Seems to me he is already aware character and hard work and dedication make champions, but he just doesn't care that much. He seems content to just live his life and winning championships is plainly less important to him than it is to most of his peers. I'm sure he'd be very happy to win Wimbledon or the Australian Open one day, but not at the expense of not getting to hang out at the pub during his free time.

Often think is he scared to train properly, he likes to have a scapegoat in that “he doesn’t train properly but still competes with the best”, needs to quit boosting his ego and reassuring himself, the real challenge is to take it the top and win a GS, definitely capable skill wise, just needs to a mentor to guide him attitude wise.

Based on his condition he trains more than he says. He could train herder and actually try in matches but by saying his training is negligible instead of what it actually is then [people will say how talented he is that he can play Rafa and Federer without doing any work.
@IVIagicful
@IVIagicful 5 жыл бұрын
@@MsJubjubbird I agree, he most definitely puts in more time in his work than average person I would say, but if he would put his mind completely to training it would give him that much of an edge to be at the very top. But to be consistent and hard working and dedicated is also a talent which some may not have.

He doesn't care. Winning titles means nothing to him and that is obvious. In the end, he's making money, might not be 2.5 million+ as it is for winning a Grand-Slam but he's still stacking millions and he isn't judging or insinuating how or what anyone else is doing/should do in their life so why is it that every one of us is doing this to him? This is the point that he's making indirectly within this interview. At the end of the day we just need to learn to live and let live so as bad as his demeanor is, it's fully understandable and perfectly imperfect; human. I for one, respect his honesty, however harshly he portrays it. He says exactly what he's thinking in any given situation which is super rare compared to all the general deceit and back-handedness we find in our worldwide society, face-to-face and especially behind 'smart' technology.

There is a misconception among fans that he is super talented and that if he would just work harder he would dominate the game. This is actually false. He doesn't have a backhand, his forehand is erratic and not very threatning either, his fitness is pretty poor, so is his stamina, he is injury prone and he is mentally unstable. The only weapon he has is his serve and some trick shots. He's basically the discount version of Monfils.

I think he's a very insecure little boy who uses rudeness as an armour. He doesn't try because he's afraid to fail. I think his family has done him a disservice. I hear that he always has a huge entourage. They're all sponging off him, capitalising on his wealth but not helping him to be a well-balanced, decent, respectful person. When his career is over he'll be alone with nothing but his bad attitude.
