Another great interview by Emma giving all the right answers from someone who will do what it takes to succeed. Well done to her. There are big questions however, to be asked of the BBC and Wimbledon for the scheduling of her match. As soon as I saw this schedule, I immediately thought this could be problematic, both in the obvious start time delay and the recovery time for the winner next day. Whoever agreed this was very, very wrong, and this match should never have been placed after the mens match. This decision could only have been pushed for by the BBC for viewing numbers with no regard to the welfare of Emma or Ijla, whoever won. The people responsible must be seriously taken to task for such an obvious failure.

A fine new talent to support and hope for continued success. I had to investigate the McEnroe comments after I saw he was (again) being criticized, and it appears he was (again) spot on. Some of Raducanu's anxiety had already been hinted at when she attempted to try to give the social media buzz a bit of distance. Mister McEnroe has always been candid enough about his temperament and issues, and he was not harsh or unkind in his analysis of Raducanu. We've gotten to see lots of different coping strategies from tennis players of both sexes over the years and the various levels of success of those strategies, especially at the major tournaments.
