Meet Piglet,
Here we have yet another exceptional Mini. He started life as a 1990 Mini racing flame checkmate like our pervious competition Mini Gerty, this time the builder has gone in a totally different direction. In 2017 the decision was taken to have him transformed to MKI style with a rear light conversion, boot and front end. Soon after this total restoration took place, he was given a total new colour scheme inside & out in 2018, the colour of choice was a MKI smoke grey with a black roof. A lot of money was spent having this work carried out and has been completed to a superb standard. After having committed to the MKI retro styling, the decision was made to go the whole hog, so 10 inch Mini-light wheels and brake conversion was carried out. The drop down rear plate & MK1 grill just confirms the attention to detail.
Under the bonnet we have what can only be described as a work of art! A 1293cc sporting a 286 cam, lightened & balanced flywheel, twin 1.5 inch SU carbs plus a tonne of other spicy mods including the headwork you'd expect, all paired with Cooper S drop set gears and a 4 pin diff. LBC manifold and stainless exhaust all makes for a rather wonderful Mini that sounds epic and goes like a rocket!
Of course the interior also reflects the MKI vibe with a centre binnacle showing all the important information, speedo (90MPH, will go off, Im sure) Oil pressure and water temperature. The instrument panel on Piglet is a very nice touch indeed, it has all the usual functions but with some amazing quality touches and lights adding to the experience. A super cool one off gear stick and knob make for a cool feel. A black Momo Prototipo leather clad steering wheel and the classic bucket seats give you an hint of what's about to come when you start her, these do a great job of holding you in place. The rear seats and door cards are all trimmed to match at a cost of £2000, you can imagine the quality. A rear roll cage again nods to Piglets potential for picking up speed very quickly. A new headlining finished her off perfectly.
Piglet has not wanted for anything since being completed and recently had a new clutch, primary gear and a USB port added.
All in all this is a spectacular Mini thats has had very little use since being complete and the photos speak for themselves, you wont find a better example.
