#radiomaster #mt12 #tutorial In this video we are going to find out how a winch can be controlled with the MT12 using one of the trim switches (in this example we are going to use T3).

I also like the fact that you showed where the plugs got connected to the receiver and how the end result works. I’m more familiar with fpv setups and there are tonnes of videos for dummies like me. Being brand new to the surface vehicle world and seeing how to setup things and how it works makes a big difference. Please keep up the good work.

Great video. Will this also work on the T5 switch? If so, I have a very fast Shift RC servo winch that I use on my competition truck and I'm hoping that there is a way that I can program the T5 to have two winch modes. I'll call the mode "A", where the T5 switch acts a typical 3P switch with full speed of the servo for in and out. The second mode would be triggered by an additional switch to mix the T5 with my throttle so that the retract rate will match my forward ground speed. Let me know. Thanks

Thanks for the comment! The requirement you have can be implemented I think. Those XLP Winch Servos from Shift RCS look amazing. I have to admit that I have never heard of it. Am I right in the assumption that these servos do not act like ordinary servos (proportional to the stick input) but more like a rate mode where the stick input defines not the angle but the speed of the movement? Do the servos have some angle limitations or hard stops? I guess not because that would counteract the use as a winch. Please give me a few days to make a video regarding your question. Since I do not have such a servo I guess I will use a simple motor to demonstrate the function if this is ok with you.

@@arminrc In theory, my servo winch acts the same as the winch that you demonstrated in the video. I currently have it setup on P2 so it proportional, but I bumped the pot and it tired to break the truck in half. On a 3P switch, there is no proportional control, which is fine for paying out the winch line, but when winching through a comp gate, the retract speed can be a little much.

@@arminrc Additionally, what version of EdgeTX are you on? My radio came out of the box with 2.10.0-nightly GIT# d6db7465555 and I do not have the same option for setting the trim switches in Drive Mode as is depicted within your video.

@@edwenger7897 The version I used for the video was (and still is) 2.10.0-rc3. Personally I find it crazy to ship the radio with a nightly build of the firmware. After all, nightly builds are not tested whatsoever. I just checked the gitub website for the project. There is now a version 2.10.0-rc4 available. According to the change log this will be (probably) the last release candidate, so almost final.

Could you do a toturial on how to add Avarage Volt per cells? on the PWM rx?
@arminrc
@arminrc 9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! For you question: I guess this would involve LUA scripting in order to process and output the telemetry data in a way that it fits your requirement. But may I ask why you need the Volts per cell? I mean, you said it yourself in the question, it would only be an average value and dividing the telemetry value for the battery voltage by - lets say - two in the head ain't so hard after all 😉

great video but i have a wireless winch powered by the esc but no wire going to the rx. i use a wireless fob. is there any way to put on a switch in the mt 12 and not us ethe fob. its a traxxas winch
@hughjanus5518
@hughjanus5518 9 ай бұрын
There is not, the traxxas pro scale winch does not have a PWM signal wire that goes to the receiver, just a JST plug for power. You need a winch that can connect to a receiver.
@arminrc
@arminrc 9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. As @hughjanus5518 already answered, the MT12 (and I guess any other Rx) is not able to control a wireless winch.
