Winchester 97 Ejection system replacement

Winchester 97 was not ejecting casings.
I replaced the Ejection Spring and the Left sided extractor

Awesome, thank you. Got a type C 1897 takedown in a couple weeks ago, the LH extractor was snapped in half, this video helped a lot to make sure I was taking it down right.

I appreciate your video, I’m having some issues with mine not cycling good. If I push the bottom over it will cycle ok but it needs some attention. I want to do it myself but not sure what it needs? Again thanks for your video! Good luck and Thank you for your service!

I finally tried ordering it today now that I have money, but it says they are sold out. Would you know how long it takes them to restock? Or any other website I can find it at? Everywhere I go they are sold out 😢

I found one at Jack First a parts place but it is pricey 42 bucks have been using google now and will look some more sorry not better news. Working with old guns sometimes that is how it happens. Looking for a part of a German .22 for a long time and finally found one in England. Keep looking man

Mine has screws on the sides Not buttons to push to eject all the rounds. Is that normal?

Not 100% sure. I have not seen a lot for comparison. The buttons you push to release the cartridges are part of the cartridge stops which are basically springs that hold things in. When you move the action bar it compresses one of the stops to let one out and the other to keep the rest in. Then when you push the action bar out it positions on the stops to their original position. They have to move so I don't see where a screw would work. I hope this helps. Maybe someone else has seen screws?

@@mudroomgunswithtom Oh they dont work lol They are just there. Only 2 ways to get em out, shoot em, or press the one button and keep cycling the action. I guess I could also disassemble the magazine tube, so a 3rd really bad option lol. As I look further into it, Very early models are like mine,it appears they added that feature about 12 years in to making them.

Wow i didn't know that. If that's the way the model was made. Maybe i you don't feel comfortabe doing it mabe run it past a gunsmith? But sounds like that's how they were made. Lot of history in those guns.
