Winchester Model 1894 carbines in .30/30 were issued to the Pacific Coast Militia Rangers (P.C.M.R.) in World War II. They were located in both British Columbia and the Yukon, in Canada. This video covers these carbines in detail and the circumstances of why they were issued. The P.C.M.R. were issued with other weapons as well, but these are not covered in this video. The boys and men of the P.C.M.R. were a form of "Home Guard", locals who knew their areas and who could work with the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force in case the Japanese attacked British Columbia, Canada.
Was there any real danger given that Japan was over 7,000 Km away from B.C.?
What could Japan do to attack B.C.?
Did Japan ever attack anywhere here on the West Coast of North America?
Is it true that the Japanese invaded and captured part of the USA?
NOTE: These carbines were NOT marked "PCMR" as at least one Winchester reference book claims.
