Days after I got out of the Navy, Dec 1972, I walked into a pawn shop in Phoenix, Arizona, and walked out with my 67a .... it cost me $19.00 ... best purchase I ever made. I still have it, and it is extremely accurate, and durable. No problems ever ... and a lot of small game in my belly due to my 67a.

I have an identical rifle, handed down from my Father who had it as a young boy. It has rhe recessed bottom screw and chrome plated bolt and has the same verbiage stamped on the top. The information on the year it was made is very valuable to me. Thanks you.

@@oddballschtuff it was a single shot 22 short bolt action rifle. My home was broken into in the mid 80's all my firearms were stolen and it was the only one I cried over. My father gave it to me so I could hunt with him when I was 5 and his uncle gave it to him when he was 5.

Nice thing is is you can pick these up for a fair cost if you’re interested in it. They shoot good, they work well, and it’s a John Browning gun. Could you ask for a little cheap single shot rifle.

@@oddballschtuff A couple years ago, I picked one up at an auction missing the bolt, got it for next to nothing. I figured I could find a bolt at a decent price. I have bought parts off of ebay, some of the businesses that sell parts, but the price that I've seen that people want for just the bolt, is more than I paid for most of the complete ones I have. I'll keep checking, once in a while one ebay, things come up for a decent price, I just keep checking there, but not getting my hopes up.

I took mine apart, reblued and refinished the stock, polished the internals, etc. Now, after I put it back together, the bolt is really hard to retract. I don't remember if it was that way when I bought it or not. Any ideas why that might be?
@oddballschtuff5 ай бұрын
Something may be out of alignment, but without seeing it it’s tough. Is there any extra build up on the pieces after refinishing? There is and should be a little bit of resistance with how the shell ejector works. Possibly after cleaning it it allowed the detent to catch and operate more effectively? Does it cycle properly and does it eject ammunition properly?
@joshhencik18495 ай бұрын
@@oddballschtuff It cycles properly. Haven't tried a live round, but I should do that. Will report back. These are so simple, there is really only one way to put them together. Not sure how I could have messed it up.
@oddballschtuff5 ай бұрын
@@joshhencik1849yeah, they are super simple. It seams like there should be a little resistance then a release that helps the shell eject, if I remember correctly. If that’s not it, I’ll get mine out in the next few days and double check. Let me know if I need to do a video on the action cycling?
@joshhencik18495 ай бұрын
@@oddballschtuff Thanks for all your help. It's still stiff, but loosened up a bit when I played with the leaf spring under the ejector. I think that spring may have gotten warped a bit and put too much tension on the ejector. I'd never tell you NOT to do a video! 😃 but I think I have the issue solved. Thanks again!

Yeah,I bought that front sight too however it's too loose for the dovetail. I'm thinking about putting the original back in. The reason I purchased that particular front sight because long decades ago my brother filed the bead off for more precise long distance shooting. I wonder if I can heat up that newer front sight while off the rifle and apply some solder to it then file the solder down for a nice tight dovetail fit b
