I feel so much healthier and my lower back is so much better. You too can do this!!! If I can do it at 64, you can do it at 50! ;) I just came across an Android app (probably on apple too) called Workout Pro. It has everything! And, no weights needed, you use your own body weight! Professional looking and a quality app. Just follow the routines. They have ones for beginners! Start off slow and get yourself in better shape to live a long and healthy life, my friend! =(:^)-

Hello, I really never comment on any KZbin videos, but I have been watching your channel for a while now (since you were looking at buying this land). I have been saving and planning to try to do what you are doing with your homestead, but in the States. I started watching your channel to get tips on how you were doing it. I have got to say what a positive inspiration you are. The positive supportive nature of your relationship with each other is incredible to see. Its also amazing watching you guys start a small community and network of friends with the locals and how you all support each other is so many ways. What you've built on your land is very impressive, but what you built with all the people and friends around you is truly amazing. I have always been a very happy positive person, but with everything that has happened this last year in the States, this has been far and away the most depressing year of my life. It is so helpful to be able to watch your videos and see someone doing what I want to do. It really continues to help inspire me. I just want to say honestly say thank you for taking the time to make these video and share this very impressive journey. Keep on inspiring. Also, Jordan, I am always impressed with your ability to Jerry rig or find a solution to most any problem.

I like the deign of that windmill but a little concern about the short tower height. Taller towers get the blades into cleaner stronger air. Also, it appears it could be a safety problem of someone walking into the turning blades in the dark or while moving things around on the site.
@ellenorbovay52264 жыл бұрын
Put a spacer between the generator and the tower, about 3 or 4 feet would be enough to get it high above the head level. Make a tripod out of 3 large pipes to winch the whole mechanism up while you put the spacer in. A little bit of work, but well worth it, you don't want to decapitate anybody with that thing.
@d.e.74674 жыл бұрын
The height concerns me too. There's no way without heavy equipment that they can add height. One of those wood fences should do the trick.
@BigFireDave4 жыл бұрын
@@d.e.7467 There is a way but almost impossible without a good sized tractor or skid steer or something. Cut down 3 big trees in the area down by the tree house, drag them up to where the tower is and stand them up like a teepee and use a block and tackle to raise the tower and place the generator and the blades in place. But then getting the tripod down would be really tricky without damaging the windmill.
@d.e.74674 жыл бұрын
@@BigFireDave Oh, I didn't mean to imply it's impossible. Just infeasible, mostly. And risky, safety-wise. I also like the idea of the high tech device protected by a tried and true old school fence. The irony would please me. Which just occurred to me that aside from a person accidentally walking into it in the dark, one of those cows might hit it. Unless they're too short.

Love your videos and the wind turbine is a great addition to your off grid life and that was a challenging build start to finish!
@francisvanderhoven90884 жыл бұрын
Here is my small 10 cents worth, 2 things , first you might want to consider using RAWL bolts and anchor into the concrete as the vibration from the blades can make the welding to crack . Secondly does the windmill have a brake on it TO lock it against winds that are travelling at very high velocity that can destroy it also put a safety rail around it, JUST MY 10 CENTS WORTH OTHERWISE ENJOY IT.
@joed67224 жыл бұрын
Francis van der hoven I agree with bolting and if not then you should plug weld all the bolt holes .
@davebrace88464 жыл бұрын
I'm certainly no expert but I'm not convinced that weld is strong enough & yes, it should have some sort of mechanism to lock/limit the speed!
@joed67224 жыл бұрын
Dave Brace the reason for the plug welding is two fold first it will prevent moisture from getting between the plates and secondly the increased connection points will certainly make it stronger and less likely to be influenced by vibration.
@Pats-Shed4 жыл бұрын
This is a H-rotor VAWT , it's very design prevents it going overspeed and I assume that the turbine controller has dump load resistors to limit the speed . I do agree that it should have anchor bolts or chemical anchors . One thing that this turbine design does not tolerate is being off perfectly plumb, which is why they are generally bolted into position using very long threaded rods welded to the re-bar with a nut and washer above and below the flange plate base for adjustment. When its perfectly vertical the gap under the flange is then filled with concrete.
@phantomwalker82514 жыл бұрын
@@Pats-Shed there hippies,cant expect too much..he could of used threaded rod,which i thought it was,or now he can drill the holes for chem anchores.that weld is enough,heaps,should be 3 runs though.plus fill the holes,which would take like 50 yrs to rust.or more.i think panels would be better cheaper.lot of work for 1 kw.thats 3 solar pnls.

I’m from Tennessee and work with a bunch of people from California on conference calls. Over five years ago, a co-worker (from Alabama) and I were to do a presentation, in person at a company meeting in California where most of our group are located. I said we should do it in a southern accent (like we would have to try to sound southern). He said we just should talk normally, we already sound southern. So that is what we did, just speak normal. I just wasn’t thinking like that. Everyone I spoke to individually after that meeting commented about my accent. Still today, many co-workers still comment they know it’s me on the phone, because of my accent. Now the guy from Boston who worked with me in Nashville for a few years, he definitely had an accent. With that said, Y’all have a good day!

You guys should hang a sign up between the 2 small windows above the door that says something like, "The Work Hut" just to tie it all together. I love the progress you have made!

The power to bring people together to build a community based on working as a team and reaping the rewards is amazing. I’m in awe of what you are able to accomplish! If only I were still young and agile! You’re so inspiring ❤️

Great video ! You should have used sealer between the generator and the stand mount . Since the bottom is sealed/welded shut it will always be full of water .

I’m from Alabama! Very southern! My Best friend is from Boston! We have a blast! But in all fairness she’s been here a long time! But when she’s talking to her family! You can hear that thick Boston accent! ♥️♥️♥️

Doesn't look like a traditional windmill but it is really cool. Windmills are very large in order to generate electricity that is why per size they aren't as efficient as solar panels but they can be a good supplement. The only drawback is the material(carbon fiber) they are made of can't be recycled without a lot of energy being used. They are using wood again on some windmills to solve that problem.

Aloha you Two...thank you for sharing and I am sending you all my positive Hawaiian Mojo. For you are a breath of fresh air in this closed-minded and easily offended cloud that seems to be in a lot of people's beings presently...as history has shown this to shall pass. Keep on sharing your fellowship and joy...it is my hope that it will clear the cloud for those that need help...Aloha G

Curious to see how that configuration compares to solar panels where it comes to output and efficiency.
