To be fair, I’ve known the project for almost a year now and I spoke to the lads and the community and they are amazing. There is so much room for improvement. I’ve gotten better results making one myself from cardboard and using water vapor, being able to see much clear lines. I also feel like the lines are a bit too high for the models, as you can clearly see that of the 4, 2 won’t even affect the model. Amazing product but it is expensive and it’s just the beggining, improvements will come💪🏻

Look at 4:16. that’s probably how. There is a clear separation bubble behind the cockpit. The real thing wouldn’t have that. You won’t get realistic airflow due to the different reynolds numbers.

Looks like the chamber actually isn't long enough to give you proper turbulance and wake detail. The exhaust fan shroud has a boundary layer in front of it that interferes with the true scale of the wake with many of those models. That or perhaps put the cars more forward in the chamber to help compensate.

Love your take on this. I also have a much higher respect for paul after this fight. He knew from the 1st jab he could have tyson any time he chose. I believe paul when he said this was 1 of the hardest things he'd ever have to do. But his actions at the end of the fight, showing mike praise, and "bowing down" so to speak, was epic. Wonder if there will be a #2 in 6 to 12 months

@@votpavel the humidifier are just an example to understand better, the tech used are most likely ultrasonic vibrations and the fluid to make the fog is just mixture of distilled water and glycerin.

Average "woah, a wind tunnel for my hottwheels cars" vs Erm, actually, according to Reynolds' number, in order for a scale model to accurately simulate a full-scale model, the air must move much-much faster as a boundry layer of airflow over any object will remain laminar for a given distance depending on the speed of the air. This would mean at 60 mph, air over both a full size and a scale vehicle will be laminar for, let's say 3inches. That being the entire lenght of a hottwheels vs 3 inches on a normal car.- 🤓

No it’s not. You can’t learn anything from it, because the airflow behavior is drastically different then on the real thing (due to very different Reynolds numbers).

get a pc fan, a pack of drinking straws, a cardboard box, and a fog machine. Fan pulls air through the box, the bundle of straws smooth out the air, the fog machine lets you see the flow.

The noise in the higher bands seems to actually be caused by non laminar flow in the tunnel. I imagine it’s extremely difficult to make truly laminar flow in a wind tunnel of that size and they did a really good job. But it looks more like an artifact of the design than actual turbulence caused by the upwards moving air (it’s a product of drag but drag would be what the car feels so to speak)

It might look like a simple machine. A box, a fan, ultrasonic fog machine put together. But first you have to be able to create laminar flow. Then you must make the vapor come out uniformly. That’s not so easy, I guess. I used to make one for school project 40+ years ago. But back then I didn’t know about laminar flow and I had never seen an ultrasonic vaporizer back then so I use incense sticks instead. Not very successful outcome. $200 sounds too expensive for something that I would get bored in a few days though. If it can fit a 1/24 scaled car then I might considered buying. But then again it would be as big as a microwave oven.

It seems like it’s VG (vegetable glycerin) which is one of the main ingredients in vape products. That sounds worse than it is cause that little of it diffused in the air inhaled on occasion isn’t really unsafe. People huff that straight into their lungs all day for years before they have adverse effects from it. You probably would inhale less VG in a year using this than vapers do in a week.
