Very well made, easy to Install and we would like to let everyone know that we are very pleased with your customer support and how refreshing it is to have a question and be able to get someone on the phone to answer questions anytime of day during business hours. Cameron has been awesome. Looking for a 40-50mph day hopefully soon to get the party started. Off Grid Stoves and More gives you 5 Stars for just being a well rounded company. Thinking of a second Turbine soon. Speak with you then :)

I've followed Jeff and his company's progress over the years since i was in high school, day dreaming about experimenting with renewable energy. I think back then he was putting in custom stator windings and neodymium magnet rotors into car alternators, really cool stuff, even sold the kit to DIY. And wow, how far he's come is just great. He went away from using ac delco bodys to manufacturing his own enclosure. I have yet to try his turbines, but since i now work in the renewable wind industry on 2MW turbines, anyone doubting the science doesnt know what theyre talking about. I'll soon be reaching out to them to get a freedom and freedom 2 and starting a channel, documenting off grid renewable energy and reviewing his turbines. Its been a long time coming and Im glad to see he's still around and still after all these years the only on the market that is selling something that isnt all plastic.

Thanks Ian. I know you can appreciate the galvanizing on the new wind turbine. I didn't galvanize the hub because it's to lumpy. The hub would have to be sanded down so the blades would lay flat, so i had to go to zinc plating on the wind turbine blade hub.
@ian5781210 жыл бұрын
MissouriWindandSolar Ah! yes I did not think about that with the hub. One thing I noticed with wind turbines is every action has a reaction. Thanks again

Hello Jeff, in a horizontal turbine, so that the main cable inside the pipe does not rotate around itself, coal and collector are needed. Does the turbine not constantly twist the central cable as a result of rotation?!

@MissouriWindandSolar10 жыл бұрын
Thanks J The cost of the wind turbine is staying the same, no extra charge for the galvanizing. It's actually pretty cheap to do if you send in thousands of them. The problem i had though is the galvanizing filled in all the bolt holes. I have to clean out almost every hole now. but it's worth it. The galvanizing company is down the road from us in Arkansas.

Hello Mr. Jeff, why don't you use a single phase generator??
@georgiebearpaws7 жыл бұрын
Jeff, you have a great company, great people working behind you, and put out loads of informative videos to educate your customers. My only concern I have is, neighbors who may not like what they see, or the zoning board making things difficult. I would love to see a kit for vertical blades, that was more discrete, even at the cost of less output, I would be OK with adding an additional unit to compensate.

What happens when it goes round and round and breaks the cable going down the pipe?
@jimthomas7776 жыл бұрын
RobWillmot , wind usually blows from the same direction and does not keep spinning the generator in circles to twist the wire , unless you have tornado's at your house every day , but I would say you have bigger problems than a twisted wire

No slip ring for electrical contact? Wouldn't that cause excessive wear on the wires?
@MissouriWindandSolar10 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't. We have had the same system for years without any failures whatsoever. Slip rings fail all the time and are not cheap. They are also hard to replace. The wind turbine almost never turns a full 360 degrees. Jeff
@Nekyinboots10 жыл бұрын
Thank you.
@Nekyinboots10 жыл бұрын
I did a little research on what you stated. You are very correct. The general wind direction for an area does not vary. So a slip ring would be a waste and waste does not fit the preppier lifestyle. I am not yet in a position to go off the grid. But living in the show-me state I will go with Missouri Wind And Solar.

what wind conditions is this best suited for? I live in South Western Ontario, Canada. Around our place their seems to be a constant wind speed of about 5-35kmh. Somtimes much higher, close to 50-70kmh. Do these wind turbines have some kind of brake?

Jeff, My wife and I are retiring in Jamiaca. We are building a home on an acre and have the flexibility to build what we want. We will not be on a grid and can take advantage of either wind or solar. We can build a separate building or use the garage to house our sustainable power. I have been watching your videos and concidering Missouri Wind and Solar to build our system. Can you support us from Missouri? And can you make some recommendation on what to build. We are not planning to reduce our lifestyle and will be using approximately 6 to 12 kilowatt hours on a daily basis. Thanks in advance, Another Jeff

that is one good lookin turbine jeff, jeff can you show different hook ups of rectifier for freedom 2 , bennifit of hooking up 12/24 , 24/48 , pros and cons , i believe that would be helpfull for your viewers
@MissouriWindandSolar10 жыл бұрын
There are no pro's and con's for doing parallel or series wiring on the rectifiers. We'll say you started out with a 12 volt system and later decided to go 24 volt, all you have to do is series the rectifiers and you now have 24 volts, saves having to buy another PMG. Or say your in a good high wind area and you have the Freedom ll PMG 12/24 volt and the rectifiers are in parallel for 12 volt battery charging. Now, the wind dies down in the summer, you can rewire the rectifiers in series to 24 volt so you will hit your 12 volt charging sooner.

Jeff - thank you for this - BUT - when exporting to modern countries (the ones that use metric sizes) please drill metric size holes, with metric bolts and nuts. Its not good to go and buy imperial size tools just for a few bolts. I spinned mine by hand and it got to 8.7 volts easily - looking forward to test it in the Mozambique coastal wind

I do not see it with just the Galvanized steal alone... JUST TRYING TO HELP YA & Protect you. I Love MW&S... hey you may want to Try silicon paste, It will last for years.. I my self have used that and it does not dry out from the sun and weather. it works PISSA... I gotta get me a PMG do to the crappy Chinese 400 watt wind turbine I have that only makes, at the most 80-90 watts in 20-30 mph wins.. BOOOO it spins all the time but it has to spin at over 1500 rpm to make any power... very educational video thank you for the video... THUMBS UP AND favored video.. thanks

good point.. yes a brushed paint is thicker. how ever any paint is better than no paint at all.. so yes a brushed paint will be better than a spray on paint but, with several layers of spray on paint will do the same as brushed on..
