Wind Waker Glitches

These are various glitches in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, some of which I just found out about. I was going to do more but I didn't.

theres also one where u push the bee gang (the gang on windfall island) off a nearby cliff, and then push them into a corner and they'll disapear like the pig

The freeze at the very end is basically the same thing as the ganon's tower freeze when you reload the beams of light by entering and exiting a room almost a hundred times. The game tries to compensate by not loading other enemies or boundaries, but eventually just crashes.

I'm actually really surprised that the Morths didn't destroy the frame rate. I'd imagine if you used a spin attack, though, that would probably crash the game as well. That had to be at least 100 or so Morths...

It's probably because of how basic they are and the fact that there's so many at once in the first place. I guess they made sure the enemy was pretty stable.

ShougaTouki I guess they don't use much space. Old games can have a lot of small stuff sometimes :3 Paper mario on gamecube could have 100s of those bone enemies at once.

It has a cap to prevent crashing. Either that, or it is set in a form of registry like an 8-bit registry, with 256 being the limit. Getting above that crashes the game, because it has no space to put the new enemies that load when he enters the other room. Also, if you do your spin attack, the framerate will drop HEAVILY because of all the purple smoke, and additionally, if you Make them jump off of you, by going into water or rolling, they will explode into a huge pile of morths. Pretty fun.

You can make a copy of any potion with 2 helpings inside by pausing the game just as you press the button the potion is set to and equipping another empty bottle. This way, you will never have to spend money on more potions, so long as you keep doing this.

It actually might be! The gamecube games seem to be loaded from the OS itself, while the wii loads it from command-lines. So basically, if a game crashes, it shuts down back to the command line, which we're not really supposed to see. The gamecube can't do this though, since there isn't anything visual to load. Keep in mind, this is all speculation. I'm just really interested in how games work, so I tend to try and make sense of shit like this. I'm no expert, and these things are probably wrong

It's a new game plus bonus. Instead of getting the regular hero's clothes, you get a special Hero's clothes which can only be seen by those of righteous heart. ...Looks amazing, right? All that red sure makes it look like the Goron tunic.

Very plausible actually. Might be because the game expects you to fall in by walking from the edge, so when he's in the middle (without doing a sword slash or regular backflip), the game doesn't know what to do.

Some of these glitches still work in The Wind Waker HD.

Yeah it's the OS. It's pretty much a stack overflow. The game has no space for new instances, so it crashes. It probably just stops at the line it's at in the code, and freezes completely. There's no way, other than resetting, to boot it back up again. Think of it like this: Line Line Line Instance count (maxed out)

Thats odd. I did the same glitch as what you did at the end, but it first spawned less and less morths and didn't freeze until I left through the other door after no more morths were spawning.
