This song is written from the purest, most genuine place that every parent can relate to. I am the Father of a three year old and stepfather to a 12 year old and this song encapsulates all my fears and hopes as a parent, and like the song says, makes me reflect on my own childhood. It's about being a new parent and being terrified of screwing up, terrfied of traumatizing one's children or not giving them what they need, while also having the hope that all their dreams will come true. When I look at my children I could break down and cry like the song says because the fear and hopes are that strong and tenuous.

I’m here because of the sweet girl Layla Salazar, a beautiful soul who we all lost way too soon in Uvalde 😞. She would sing this with her dad every time they would drive to school. To anyone going through rough times, know that you have those you love looking out for you. ❤

She's got a smile that it seems to me Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything was as fresh as the bright blue sky Now and then when I see her face She takes me away to that special place And if I stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry Whoa, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet love of mine She's got eyes of the bluest skies As if they thought of rain I'd hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place Where as a child I'd hide And pray for the thunder and the rain to quietly pass me by Whoa, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Whoa whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet love of mine Whoa, yeah Whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Whoa, oh, whoa, oh Sweet love of mine Whoa, oh, oh, oh Sweet child o' mine Ooh, yeah Ooh, sweet love of mine Where do we go? Where do we go now? Where do we go? Ooh, oh, where do we go? Where do we go now? Oh, where do we go now? Where do we go? (Sweet child) Where do we go now? Ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, ay Where do we go now? Ah, ah Where do we go? Oh, where do we go now? Oh, where do we go? Oh, where do we go now? Where do we go? Oh, where do we go now? Now, now, now, now, now, now, now Sweet child Sweet child of mine

*Not a chance!* These coments are old, I know, but some simply need correcting. The 60s, 70s, 80s, & 90s too bred the best music in history and, whilst this song is great, it simply can't compete can't compete for that title, even for the 80s alone.

I remember playing this song in guitar hero over and over especially for the guitar solo. Slash is a guitar God. Fun fact: When Axel says where do we go now, they literally had writer's block. They had no idea what else to put so they were asking themselves where do we go now and they realized it goes good with the song. XD
