Hi Laura and Aaron. Your window boxes are beautiful! I love the Chocolate Drop and the Wicked Witch Coleus. I put 2 Wire Vines, a twisted Juncus and Fiber Optic grass together in a pot and is probably my favorite! I would definitely leave the flower boxes white. Thank you for sharing!

I think to really make up your mind on whether to paint them black, you should just get some black poster cardboard, roughly cut out the same box shapes, tape them on there, live with it for a few days, coming and going and see, would you “really” like them in black? That would be my simplest solution to test them out. The only reason I said poster board, they would hold up better for a few days, plus I think you can get the in a really jet black color (?). Easy peasy ☺️. Overall love the window boxes, I’m torn on color choice too, maybe do the faux cover in black and put it out there for us to look at and vote 🗳. Thanks for the updates! I absolutely love the window box plants this year, mostly foliage, all the beautiful greens and coleus. Very elegant and serene this year with just a touch of color. The chocolate drop coleus are to die for, tamed and untamed both are gorgeous. Everything looks amazing.

0.47 I love impatiens and yes I had to be very patient with one tiny plant which wouldn't grow and wouldn't make flowers so I started putting banana skin in its soil and removed it from the very hot sun of July in the afternoons and eventually it grew beautifully and made lots of red flowers . When I transplanted it in a bigger clay pot what I did was to find a spot so it can get a lot of sun in the morning but in the afternoon when temperarure reached 33C the sun had already gone. At last it found its right spot. Plants in Greece grow incredibly fast in one year.

When I was a teenager ( many moons ago) I had a big GORGEOUS coleus that was my pride and joy and thanks to you Laura my interest has spiked again and I have several outdoors, not as beautiful as yours. I looked everywhere for the surefire Rose Begonia this spring after seeing yours, but no luck. I hope I can find them next year. And now I am going to be sure to look for the Chocolate Drop Coleus. I'm pretty sure I saw those around this year. I've got some spots letting them go crazy would be great! Thank you for all the wonderful ideas.

AprilBird4 i also had this happen , ended up ordering them from proven winners site and they were absolutely amazing plants all summer and now into fall! I had never ordered online but I was pleasantly surprised! Thank you Laura and jack barnwell for introducing the proven winner surefire rose begonia ! It’s wow!!!

Love how each window looks different. Really glad to see that you just let them do what they could. I do the same thing. In one of my containers the coleus, impatients, and polka dot plants just went nuts.

I love the fall touches you added at the end. It’s so nice you were able to grow all the cute little pumpkins and squash for your decorating! I think we will try that next year. It looks very nice and festive. The window boxes look great and live that you experiment! We do that too. So fun! And I loved seeing ways the same plant grows differently in sun vs shade. Definitely keep the window boxes white - it does go with everything. Also, I would put in the green striped pumpkins and gourds next to the pink caladiums. I think that would look better than the orange baby pumpkins. Love your boxes - and I truly love coleus and can't wait for the new ones from Proven Winners to come out.

The spider mites on my black eyed Susan's won the battle this summer, finally cut them all to the ground. ☹️. Funny thing, the mites didn't attack any other plants in the flower beds. Love the planters and the chocolate drop coleous - incredible! ❤️👍

I bought the Yorkshire window boxes last year and they did great but this year they didn't hold the water they leaked around the seams. I guess the glue doesn't hold the seams together for very long. I would not recommend these for a self watering option. But they due look nice. Love your videos 😊
