Years passed and now I don't think I'll be moving from win10, until they stop the support. Can't believe 8 years have passed this quickly.

@@dreaper2087 My dude, are you aware of how many people don't care about our issues with windows? It's evident by the sheer amount of pc users that run 10 and 11. No amount of proof will ever convince people to switch. And yes, it does work out of the box for casual users, you can't deny that. Your problem is that you assume people care. They don't, that's why always online requirments, excessive drms, whatever crap nvidia is pulling, steam being just a drm store where you don't even own the things you pay for, and many, many things are still happening. Most people don't care, that's a fact. Also, did you read what i wrote? I didn't say old systems were horrible, i just said that people have been saying "windows is dying" for 2 decades now.

The KZbin channel AdamantIT recently did a fresh install of Ghost Spectre and a fresh default Windows 10 install (in their weekly podcast), and there was no performance difference between them. Yeah. just like RGinHD's system which is a 12th gen i5 and 3060, there won't be a whole lot of difference because the load at idle will be negligible. And I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you want to play CS at 1080p lowest then you absolutely don't need this hardware, just get a Dell or HP junkbox with a Core 2 Quad in it and throw in a low profile 710 or 1030. Problem solved, and it frees up good hardware for those that actually want to make their games look better than a PS2 title.

Thats usually the case anyway. A fresh install of any software is generally better than upgrading over top an existing version where some older files that are not overwritten can get let behind and can sometimes cause issues ranging from incompatibility issues to performance issues. Windows 11 feels to me like ME/Vista and 8.1. It's most likely another stop gap OS until 12 releases, which I'm also not looking forward too. Even 10 gets more annoying to configure with each bigger patch, some configurations I can find online that you can do pretty quick and easy with group policies no longer work, the options are just gone. I'ts not only the amount of data that gets sold to advertisers, for me it's mostly the bad usability that annoys me more and more about Windows. It is worth remembering 12400f doesn't have efficiency cores, so this might not translate 1:1 to higher end configurations or even just newer ones as 13400f has them. Anyway I have actually switched from 7 to 11, wanted to poke at people who annoyed me for years whenever I mentioned 7 and game support. Well, to be honest I never really liked 10, and would probably use 98SE if I could :P so I thought I can just jump to 11. The major issue is inability to turn off icon grouping in taskbar, this kills workflow and makes 11 impossible for professional use for me (I used to work with text, often switching opened windows between document types and pictures, and I need every single file on a one click). Other than that the Windows Update is just as scary as in 10, the same default view in Control Panel, maybe its a bit trickier to quickly find controller proprietaries and... well I want the clock face back when I click on calendar :P I'm a retro gamer, but so far things like UT still run on 11 out of the box (or out of the iso :P), so does Winamp 2.92 from an installation folder I kept from either 98SE or XP :P, and I still have my old PC with 7 around.

I personally think (from the non knowledge I have) that upgrading to Windows 11 for security would actually be a downgrade because of the forced amounts of data collected and shared. I personally use Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC that lets me disable any slight telemetry, I have checked that there is nothing sent to microsoft. I don't know about Windows 10 Home and Pro, but I know about Windows 11 and it is horrible in telemetry. I also personally wouldn't upgrade to 11 because it's heavier and a lot more bloated, thought it's a personal need because my hardware isn't the best and I need maximum usage of it.
