Windows 11 24H2 - Install a CLEAN & DEBLOATED version (Guide)

I just used this method yesterday when installing to a new gaming laptop, and I'm thrilled with the results. I've hesitated from moving to Windows 11, but with this install script my install is cleaner than it was with Windows 10. Edge is gone (Though the webview app is still present and unremovable), copilot is gone, Cortana is gone, Replay is gone as well as all the unnecessary apps that I don't use. The only thing that didn't get removed was the antivirus app, but I suppose I can get by with that.

So wouldn't make it sense to disable Windows Updates then? It pauses windows updated for a week, until you manually update. Will updates install all the bloatware I had deselected in the XML-file? Also what's your reason for not disabling app-suggestions? Isn't that also one way Windows installs app's you might not even know you had?

If I wanted to upgrade my win10 to win11 minus all the bloatware, is it possible to generate a XML file to do so? Or would there be a different way to do so?

You say to enable the offline/No internet mode but it says only to do it if you REALLY don't have an internet connection. You didn't explain why fully enough. SO using this mode if you Do have internet is ok? why would they say otherwise? I will add though that this process was dead easy and I am very grateful. Everyone should do this. The 24h2 version still had some bloatware on it like outlook (new) and LinkedIn and mailchimp so I created a ps script which elevates and then users the appx command within the unattended as it asks on the website when creating run any scripts

A little too clean for me. The start menu does not have the settings icon or even calculator. Hopefully you can deselect those kind of programs. It is amusing though that after your clean install you still have Microsoft Store on the taskbar. One thing though is this only good for clean installs or can you use this to do an upgrade from Windows 10?

I didn't quite understand the part between 12:33 and 12:53, brother. Do we need to enter BIOS settings and select USB here? BUT I entered BIOS settings and set it as USB, but the installation didn't start, cmd didn't open, also my computer is old BIOS. There is no TPM SECURE BOOT, my motherboard is DDR 2, my processor is E8200 CORE 2 DUO, does this method work?

Yes you need to boot from the USB you have created in Rufus. It sounds like to me you are running quite an old PC so personally I wouldn't''t recommend running Windows 11 on that machine as you WILL have instability and issues (it may not even run with those specs at all). But yes if you want to try it, you will need to select the option to bypass the Windows 11 requirement check however I don't recommend doing this.

Nice clean version... I like it. Question - will Windows update reinstall anything you've deselected once it updates in the future? (Aside from major updates).

Thanks for the feedback and good question! Now, quite possibly it could install the software again as Microsoft does tend to force software and updates through via Windows Update. I'll check to confirm this and if it does, i'll report back with a solution to prevent it.

Why would I need rufus to make a bootbale usb? Cant you just boot to it like you always used to?

I did the same process but stuck in starting of cmd after succeeded in cleaning the disk showing "The disk you specified is not MBR formatted Please select an empty MBR disk to convert, Diskpart encountered an error."

It depends upon the system. Most systems by default these days won't boot to USB automatically, so you need to set the boot priority in BIOS. On my system (Acer) I had to use BIOS to disable SecureBoot and enable the USB boot option. I also had to manually add a hardware driver during the install. When I used the same USB to install Windows 11 to my NUCbox PC I did not need to change boot priority in BIOS. Your PC might be different.

So to understand this right, security wise. You go to an unknown website and online you debloat your Windows by giving someone else, possibly, access to your Windows installation. This website could, possibly, leave anything, backdoor or mallware or spyware after removing security features from Windows???

You can open the XML file to view the contents of the code that the website generates. There is no malware or back door in place. I checked this fully before posting this video.

The windows User Experience doesn't appear on mine. It used to but now it's vanished and just creates the disk.

That could be caused by hardware limitations. Not all PC’s are able to run this update.

Didn't work for me on any of my 10 computers! It failed 100% of the time until I deleted the XML file.

you already ticked make edge uninstallable, how come after the installation, edge showed up in the desktop ??

It makes edge 'un-installable' via programs and features under control panel which isn't normally available. It will still install Edge but allows you to remove it.

Why not just drag and drop your customized XML file into the Windows 11 ISO on your USB stick? Rufus seems like an unnecessary step. What am I missing?

You can just drag and drop the XML file onto the Windows 11 USB, however Rufus installs the iso file onto the USB and makes it bootable. If you find another way is more suited better for you, then you can do that instead.
