totally worked for me, internet explorer was opening but showing just a white page, content didn't load for any site. Once I reset and restarted computer, it loaded fine. Many thanks for your help.

Hi, goto Runcommand> type msconfig - select "Selective Startup" Startup > click on disable all > goto Services > Check the box which says "Hide All Microsoft Services " Click on disable all > Restart your computer ... All Done... :)

oh boy you are really good, and i comprehend what your saying, but now that i have opened the INternet properties the only thing i see is Restore advanced settings, not the REset button, that your talking about!:( whould i hit the restore advanced do you think. I have no icon for internet, and i can't get on the internet, i lost all my settings, and cant seem to find the right drivers to download!, I didn't download a new windows 7 somebody did it for me. too bad they didn't tell me to save my connection settings :(
