And guess what: EVERY Mac contacts Apple's Server Farms BEFORE it even boots macOS to check if its part of an Enterprise Management solution and if there is a configuration profile for the machine that Apple wants to push to them. Yeah, the battery life is way better, especially the standby time on these laptops. I have a Galaxy Book Edge 14-inch, and it's incredible. You can just close the lid, and 24 hours later, it's only dropped like 3%. Also, Windows 11 ARM runs and feels so smooth. I generally don't even know when it's emulating things because it runs everything smoothly and quickly. It's not a gaming laptop; it's an ultra-thin and light one. I'm sure if games get optimized and compiled for ARM, it'll run a lot of games much better. GTA 5 runs amazingly while being emulated, like 120+ frames per second.

It's not really like you have a choice. You will need to switch. Either to Windows 10/11 or to Linux. Windows 7 is barely functioning anymore and at some point, like 70% of the software for it won't work. Not to mention the fact that new hardware doesn't work on Windows 7, since that would require drivers. Which aren't being made anymore.

Windows really shot itself in the foot with how they presented their implementation with ARM chips. They're very efficient but it's still leaps behind what it could be. So many apps aren't compatible, windows copilot requires a monthly subscription and even though it's Ai is ran on device GPT-4o is the same price with the same speed from the website, and the laptops shipping with these chips suck they're overpriced and run as good as a (3 years old BTW) Macbook Pro m1 pro chip but the Mac (renewed on Amazon for $1000) will give you a better screen (120hz 4k) and compatibility. Microsoft is so far behind its embarrassing.

These reviews online seem to have to most strange spin. I bought this laptop thinking it would be perfect for me. I've had a MacBook air m1 and miss some of the flexibility of windows. They need to stop saying there are no issues with app compatibility. I am there target user, don't care about gaming and just want to do my work, but things like google drive, a VPN and common software for making simple video tutorials does not run well. The battery life is less then my 3 year old air, and on standby I was losing a lot of battery compared to the m1 air as well. I'll be returning this laptop and think it will be great in 1 or 2 years. The hardware is incredible in this laptop. I got the one with 1tb ssd and 32gb ram; nothing really comparable for the price, but I still need to return it unfortunately. The online community should be more honest about these machines though. I bought into the hype luckily Lenovo has a generous return policy.

If you want to clock your yoga for better performance, then set to best performance in settings, then get a flat 17" 2 fan laptop-cooler base. Enjoy increased performance uber close to the M3 - my Yoga saw a 9% performance increase tested by CPUX for my own, and the guy who figured the hack is online - he put the laptops in a freezer , etc - you should be able to find it with that description. Yoga 7x 32 gig, 1tb, Win pro. Great unit, and when the suport fills out I plan to Dual boot it.

It's quite normal that a Windows machine wants to be activated when it has an actual OEM version (and not a volume license) on it. Once the license gets activated, it also gets stored in your Microsoft account. He probably did not want this to happen, since it was a review model.

Lenovo devices traditionally have excellent Linux support (even though Lenovo does not officially advertise that). However, from what I've read, thus far Linux itself currently is not yet up to the job of running properly on these new machine generation - it's still under development.

10:15 as a dev who has relatively good tab discipline and close them often, I can imagine how it might be useful. Also as a dev, I can imagine it being a sec ops nightmare. The fact that the principal SDE at MS who came up with this was like “security issue?
