This is one of the best-looking Windows Longhorn builds I've ever seen! Too bad it's very buggy, but what can we all expect from beta builds of computer operating systems? It's also a shame the Longhorn operating system never came to be, but at least many later elements were integrated into the reset development project for Windows Vista. Imagine if the Longhorn desktop theme was available as an official add-on for the Windows XP operating system because not surprisingly, lots of Windows XP elements were still in use in this Longhorn build.

Yeah Plex was really not a bad theme at all. Would be cool if they had implemented it in XP with even DCE. DCE actually looks nice in my opinion but unfortunately it's super buggy in VMware. I would have seen better results on physical hardware. To anyone reading this: I wouldn't mind some donations (kidding by the way. I do not plan on making money off this content). Thanks for watching!

Almost a week of Windows build reviews, I love the Windows Longhorn builds before the reboot that happened in 2004 but when they changed from being based on XP technology to Server 2K3 they threw away all the progress and I love them more backgrounds in blue tones and those more futuristic themes than Apple's Aqua but everything changed after the reboot. :(

Be sure to submit a request to billy-o-reilly.andremor.dev/ in order for it to be considered. Please note: It may take a long time to get to due to the large volume of requests, so please do not expect that it will ever be covered as I have only so much time to do all of these and requests are chosen randomly.

Driver issues
@Sonicrush0075 ай бұрын
As said by the other commenter, drivers. Also compatibility issues as well. I used to use Virtualbox for build videos when I first started and didn't know what I was doing. I HIGHLY advise against using Virtualbox for build videos as VMware Workstation Pro is superior as it has backwards compatibility options to make builds work better as well as insanely better driver options. It's near impossible to get good drivers in Virtualbox, especially ones that will get Aero working on Longhorn and Vista builds.
@ThatOneWindowsFan5 ай бұрын
@@Sonicrush007 1. Elaborate on "Make builds work better". 2. VMware is SO overpriced. $250 is simply way too much. 3. There are tons of good drivers for VirtualBox. I mean, not specifically for Aero, but you don't need Aero anyway, just a look thing.
@graigmellon78745 ай бұрын
@@ThatOneWindowsFan Guest additions may not work in those types of builds... they do tend to work much better on operating systems that are close to RTM or stable enough to work, like 2000, XP, Vista, 7, etc., along with drag and drop (just like VMware Tools where you can drag and drop as well). VirtualBox really changed with version 6.1 to be honest. What used to work well with older versions doesn't appear to work as well with the more recent ones.

@Sonicrush0075 ай бұрын
@@joeyto-music7294 I'm well aware of that, but regardless build videos are somewhat risky to do as Microsoft does not want them up (yes there has been a chance of stance since the Technical Previews of Windows 10 have been made public), but I'm trying to be cautious and protect myself against a sudden charge of heart or some weird technicality that would get a video taken down. Are the chances of Microsoft taking down such a video high? Absolutely not, but I like to be on the safe side and cover things when they're no longer under development.
