Since Windows 95, chord.wav was used for both Exclamation AND Error/Critical Stop Prompts but, in XP they had a diferent sound for each one...

From Windows 8 onward, I feel they give us very few options for customization. Just compare Windows 7's Theme maker with Windows 10's Theme maker! You could even make Windows 7 look Windows 95-ish without installing anything. While Windows 10 just lets you enable light/dark mode and choose the accent color
